Data-dog - How many book about evolution written by evolutionary scientists have you read? From what you have written so far I'm guessing the answer is none.

    OK I will clarify..

The existence of God can neither be proven nor disproven..
    The Irony..

Being an Athiest or a Believer requires you to have Faith..

Simple, yet profound. Thank you, Outlaw.

I`m in a life and death situation and really need to make a choice..

    LOL!!..

I have no Idea if God exists or not..

It`s not something I would bet on either way..

    That would require Faith..

    Faith..

I have faith in what can be proven..

I have faith in the most likey out come of events..

As far as Religious Faith..I have none..

Good morning, Outlaw. I like the simple way you have made a point that is very important. Faith is involved in both belief and atheism. You have explained it in the best way I have seen.

Aposta-Z, what do you believe evolution is? Some people believe there was a big bang, that just happened with no direction. Then at some point some lifeless matter aquired life with no direction and became all that we see in the natural world. Some say evolution and they really mean a slow adaptation over time. You say natural selection is an observable fact. I assume you mean that if you had 2 dogs that escaped from a warm climate to a fridgid climate that given time thier offspring would show characteristics not seen in the original parents. This would happen because they adapted and each subsequent generation was a little tougher and suited for the enviroment. Still they were still dogs, and always will be as far as you and I are concerned because we will be dead soon. There are no dog-birds, You would think with the need to chase cars and catch frisbees that at least some nubby wings would have happened by now. A dog is still a dog. No one alive today has observed what supposedly happened millions of years ago to say it was fact, and the fossil record is not complete. None of us will be alive a billion years from now to see what lives on the earth, if anything. Here is a good example of the religion of science doing their Judge Rutherford type predictions.

Where to start? First---the Big Bang Theory (not an explosion) has nothing to do with Evolutionary Theory. They are different disciplines answering different questions. Creationists often conflate the theories of Big Bang, Abiogenesis, and Evolution. This seriously muddies the debate and tends to make it impossible to discuss. When a person jumps between 3 theories at will as though they are one, the debate becomes unworkable.

Birds did not evolve from dogs. You have oversimpliified this process to the ridiculous, and I don't think you really understand what the theory states. We can talk about primitive traits and derived traits, but I don't think you know what they are. We can talk about the proven predictive powers of the Theory of Evolution, but I don't think you would understand. I think you could understand, but I don't think you want to. Cars and frisbees? Do you understand environmental pressures and the driving force---food? Does chasing cars and frisbees make a dog more fit reproductively or address how critically getting more food plays into that process?

Your post betrays such a fundamental understanding of science, that further discussion is just silly, unless you would like to research a few things and discuss them. You've reduced a multi-layered, well researched Theory to a few pithy statements. Learn about Evolution before you try to debate it.

Slow adaptation over time? How do you distinguish this from Evolution? What happens if a group becomes separated from the rest, and that slow adaptation leads to different adaptations than the first group will undergo? What happens when genetic drift causes the genome to become so different between the two, they can no longer reproduce? Speciation. Do you understand that? You frame things as though you do not.

I beleive that Gods and Godesses are a product of the human psychic projection mechanism. Does that rule out the possiblity of thier existance? No it does not, it simply means I have that view point. I do think there are many gods but why narrow this down to an dictionary's predifined definition of gods and just leave it indifinable as you can take the word in your imagination.

Supernatural events, is a definition that can be very broad depending on your imagination. They too are projections.

Jung Said that these UFO sighting by people may be part of projection cause by the human collective unconscious. Maybe having sex with one maybe a projection of a repressed sex drive in the unconscious.
