I think Shamus had the best and wisest answer, actually (okay, i did not read them all, but I thought his was the truth). Not because he's an adorable monkey (because we all know that's a fib). This time I think its all on him.

    Peace,

Well...I would agree with you tec...except for this...

Part of the grieving process from this stupid high-control group is anger at god. It is expected!...Shamus

I was NEVER angry at god. I loved my delusion and reluctantly let it go when it didn't stack up.

    I like Palmtrees answer best....

Why are those ***** that deny the existence of fairies so intent on scorning "believers"?

Don't they realise not believing in fairies IS A BELIEF

They are just afraid of disney books

They fairy deniers come here to teach...

Oh im a reasonable guy, i say to my friends at fairy hunt gatherings how nice fairy deniers are... some are more moral than fairy believers i know

You dont have any evidence that fairies DONT exist...ha ha ...got you there

You say fairies don't exist but you have NO evidence to show that ducks were once giraffes ..... Hmmmmm!

I do have evidence for my belief in fairies, i know they answer my wishes, you just have to really believe, i guess you never really, really, really did believe...

Have you never looked at dew on the morning grass and wondered how such a beautiful thing got there?....... Fairy tears obviously.

huh...even your DAWKINS admits fairies may exist, he said there was a one in 7 chance of them existing...

I just dont understand..... just because the Jehovahs Witnesses hurt you, why would you then throw the pixie out with the bathwater?

No, YOU are the ones that are obliged to provide the evidence that fairies DONT exist! What do you mean how if you dont believe they exist?

How do i know which parts of the fairy tales are true and which are not? I just do, because I am in union with Tinkerbell. If you REALLY ask tinkerbell for guidance you too can have it, no i mean you have to be really sincere when you ask..... Well you couldnt have been...

Quantum physics and string theory are now showing us the science of fairy activity, it allows them to do what us ignorant humans think of as magic...i gained my knowledge of such physics through wikipedia and a BBC documentary.

Oh those fairy tales were written in a different time and culture, i would never condone Mr Pan taking those children from that bedroom. I dont think Tinkerbell said anything because she respected the culture of the time...well thinking about it, she actually did say something in a way, she told us a golden rule "F aith and trust, all you need is pixie dust!" Which to me gives a very clear message, only trust the dust, not people lile Mr Pan, had the children obeyed that then they would never had gone with him.

Yes fairytales were actually written by men, but were inspired by what they saw in their garden. So any mistakes, like Tinkerbell aiding in an attack on a pirate ship, obviously didnt happen, and obviously even as a believer, what that crocodile did to Mr Hand (now Mr Hook) obviously was human in origin, a fairy would never allow/encourage that to happen.

Let me challenge your evidence for evolution by thinking you are showing me abiogenesis, and asking about astrophysics....so... OK mr know it all, yes i see the reptile mandible becoming the middle and inner ear BUT.....What was before the big bang? Afterall...something must have come before it or made it.... Everything has to have an origin, there must be something before it, something had to make it....you cant make something from nothing..... Everything has to have something before it.... That's your answer! You dont exactly know yet? Hah! See I have the answer, it tells me in my fairy tale book exactly how the universe came about...See my friend... there are fairies, because something cannot come from nothing! Whats that?... Who made the fairies.... Oh nobody, they have always existed, nothing came before them or made them......

What do you mean e=mc2 proves that something can come from nothing, the energy of the universe or e= zero as there is equal negative energy to positive, and yet it can result in mass ? That sounds like apixieasty to me, have you been reading their websites?

Yes i know the miller experiment where the building blocks of life (amino acids) were formed out of thin air, within beakers representing early earths enviroment, but lets ignore that amazing result and ask... Do you really know the temperature of early earths enviroment? Nah didnt think so.... The results are invalid therefore... Besides, maybe fairies used evolution to create everything?

Have I actually seen a fairy....? No, but I have a personal relationship with Tinkerbell so I know they exist...

Has anyone thought there is a god but he is not perfect. Maybe he is flawed not all knowing and looks at us the same as I look at ants? People are either black or white. I think grey. No matter what something started from nothing. We are here we think and I am writing this. How did it all start. something was forever it really blows my mind.

I wasn't angry at any gods when I became an atheist. I used to get angry when I thought they were real--but on becoming an atheist there was absolutely no anger involved! Not at a god, anyway. It would really be weird to get angry at a non-existent god---there, I said it! I scorn atheists that are angry at a nonexistent god!

    Hah! Snare&Racket, another good answer...

Let's face it - this issue that SOME believers have with atheists is a loaded issue - no matter HOW atheists answer, certain believers "have faith" that THEIR viewpoint is the "righteous" one, therefore mundane and irritating things like FACTS just confirm certain believers' belief that atheists 'hate' "god" - in the case of the bible, old-and-new-testament "gods"...

So, any calm, rational answer given by atheists or even some agnostics WON'T satisfy SOME believers - because SOME believers are SO accustomed to having their fantasy world confirmed, that they cannot understand factual answers that go contrary to their fantasies...

And you know who you are - though you may lie to yourself that you are not among SOME of those believers...

Please don't put me in that group that scorn, and I won't call you a christian fundumbmentalist. :D

    Adorable Monkey

Monkey, yes, you are adorable. Have a banana.

In the meantime, I don't put people into groups. That was the whole point of my thread. I dislike groups. The current epidemic of polarisation is to be regretted. But I learned a lot by the way my well-intentioned thread developed while I was getting on with life in the real world, and I'll try and stop myself from making such a mistake again.

The only group you are in, to my mind, is Adorable Simian. Those who know me would be roaring with laughter at the thought that I might be called christian fundamentalist,...but then they tolerantly and worriedly stood by, not knowing what to do, as they watched me become entrapped by JW's.

For those who don't know me, and some of the respondents on this thread hadn't met me before, I think, my backround is academic liberal catholic, politically left wing.

The thread itself was born from my own direct personal experience and observation of what was happening on the board. I hoped to make a difference for a more peaceful life here for everyone. I've never had any problem with atheists, they are honest thinkers. I have a problem with people like Dawkins, and I have a problem with intolerance. That's where I am.

I failed spectacularly and am unlikely to make such an unwise mistake again.

Dear Chariklo, I have not had time to read the whole thread yet, I will return and do so, but someone is hustling me as they need to use this computer for some real work!

But I don't think it is a failure as far as I can see, it was worth it for CA's list of rules on page one ! I think they should be added to the posting guidelines, including the one about him being awesome !

As I have stated on another thread, I do not deride believers as people, but if they hold to silly beliefs, I will heap scorn upon such beliefs, LDS Magic Underpants included.

Too much misplaced respect for beliefs allows the Islamic Fundamentalists to flourish, and at the other end of the scale, the WT and LDS etc to continue in existence.

Scorn and ridicule, especially if done in a really funny way, is/are a huge weapon against ignorance and harmful beliefs.

(I P.M'd you some more about your holiday destination LOL)
