Why are atheists so intent on scorning "believers"?

Why do you want to discuss the semantics of reason? If you want to claim that reason is made evident because we have some stories about a talking donkey and fire dragons ithe sky, I would rather go count stars.... If you want to claim that we only have reason because of a god, which one? i dont believe in one... So how can we converse around that? It is also illogical, reason and rationalemare not limited to humans and their god concepts...

Awww man I am losing interest already, quick fire an interesting question at me, this William Lane Craig bullshit is making me want to crawl into a volcano....

Why so quickly offended, snare? I was asking a fairly to-the-point question without suggesting anything. What is the atheist's standard by which to determine reason? And please answer without ad hominems and strawmen. Thank you in advance.

Really? Ad hominems, strawmen, offense? Is this the atheist scorn that is being spoken of, because none of that existed in Snare's response? Or is it there, despite all evidence, because you just believe it is there?

Seriously, your response doesn't even seem to go with what Snare said, it is so disconnected.

NewChapter, let's go with Plato's universal application of reason (logos) and not the all-too-used Enlightenment understanding of the concept...for the sake of argument.

Under the Platonic idea, what is the standard by which atheists determine reason?

    Exactly NC

I gave a silly example of a squirrel and a cat above but lets use a clever one...

Take a dog to a beach, throw a ball into the sea at an angle, e.g. 45 degrees to your left, a clever dog will REASON and use RATIONALE thinking by running down the beach until at 90 degrees to the ball, not swim at an angle. Hence a clever dog will use trigonometry and reason and had a rationale for doing so, a shorter distance and less energy consumed! Yes my forum friends, dogs know pythagoras!

No bible or god was necessary in this awesome dog ability. Please do try this at home.

Are we going to banter, or are we going to answer a still unaswered and very legitimate question on the table?
