  Arrested for going kingdumb hall!

  Last night (3/21) the Mountain View (CA) police arrested me.
  This happened as I was attending the Sunnyvale congregation service meeting.

  I was DF’d last July and was told by the elders the conditions for reinstatement were meeting attendance, repentance along with not speaking to anyone or anyone speaking to me (shunning at its finest). (BTW, I was DF’d for apostasy)

  Well last night I came to their meeting a little late (during opening prayer) and while everybody had their eyes closed I walked up to the front and sat down directly in front of the speaker podium. The brother John Pickering (elder) who was giving the rather long prayer was asking god’s for help because they were so very close to the end of this world and Satan was out to get them, blah, blah, blah, I’m sure you know the prayer. Well I’m sure he was surprised when he opens his eyes and saw me, (he was one of the five elders that DF’d me).

  So I sat quietly smiling while the meeting progressed. J(ohn) P(ickering), gave the Bible highlights and was visibly annoyed at my SMILLING PRESENTS directly in front of him. After the #2 talk he rudely sat right next to me, since he is somewhere around 6’ 6” and very heavy he use his tremendous size to push me into a little space to the opposite side of my chair, he deliberately used he mass to try to get me out of my seat. It didn’t work because I opened my arm and swung it on the back of his chair to give me a little more room. He was getting madder, he then moved his feet in such a way by crossing his legs to invade my personal space even more to make it hard to stay in my chair (his foot was literally in my lap), I still didn’t budge. After a few more minutes he moves he big arm into my space and hits me in the head with his elbow so I rest my head on his elbow since he is very rudely in my space. I have to wonder what this must look like to all the friends watching their elder treat me in such a cruel way, and so I pull out some of my apostate literature and hold it in front of me inside my personal space but I turn it towards JP and he is getting madder and madder, so he get makes his arm drop really hard on my arm to give me a accidental charley horse. After that I tell him he is looking like a complete fool, and mention that the friends can easily see what he doing. He finally gets up and leaves me to talk with the elders.

  During the song before the service meeting he approaches me and says,” your privilege to attend meetings has been revoked please leave right now”.
  I tell him I’m not leaving and that he has to drag me out. They call the police and about 6 or 7 come up to the front during the meeting and bring me out.

  They weren’t going to arrest me as long as I left but I had JP arrested for assault, so I sign a paper putting him under citizens arrest and then they in turn have me arrested for: disturbing a religious meeting and trespassing.

  Join the Watchtower or you will die.

  You must beleive the Watchtower or you're going to die a painful death forever, isn't that really GOOD NEWS?

  Hi D,

  Yeah, sometimes the cops have to cater to the whining JWs. I wonder what elder Asshole told the cops when he called them.

  BTW, is elder Asshole going to actually face any charges himself?

  Dave,

  You should have told that "very heavy" elder about your new diet. It sounds like he could use it. : ) So, were you actually thrown in the pokey until someone bailed you out, or were you just escorted off the KH property? What apostate literature were you reading at the meeting?

  As long as you are telling the complete story, I would have to say that was so rude of the elder. So much for the public being allowed to attend public meetings in the hall that YOU likely helped pay for.

  If there were legitimate reasons why you shouldn't have been there, they should have contacted the police instead of resorting to such stupidity.

  All in all though, I had a good laugh while I read your story. I don't know how appropriate your motives were in being there, but as long as you were merely smiling I can't see how that could be regarded as "causing a disturbance".

  First, let me apologize for the DB's lack of response that has allowed this post to slip off Page 1. The least this community could do to repay your bravery is to BTTT this up all day long.

  While I don't agree 100% with what you did, I do applaud you for having the guts to stand up for your perception of things, as well the willingness to accept consequences to acheive an end. Lots of people on this DB run their mouths constantly about the WTS, but few are willing to "write the check".

  The Elders likey had telephoned "Legal" in the interim.

  I tell him I?m not leaving and that he has to drag me out.

  This, as well as displaying "apostate literature", was a mistake. They had the legal right to ask you to leave, and up to that point you were the clear victor legally, morally, etc. At hat point, they can do whatever is "reasonable under the circumstances" to remove you from the premises.

  However, I DOUBLY APPLAUD you for taking the trespass, etc charges in order to press assault and battery against Elder-Asshole.

  I hope your personal situation is such that you are able to make this a public issue in the Press, as well as sue the hell out of the Elder and the Cong. (Do not name the WTS.)

  The recent statements in the Oregon Press re DF'ed ones "Welcome" at KHs should be positives both at trial and in any media reports.
