"...Jonathan Holt, 24, a neighbor of Heichel and a member of the same Jehovah's Witness church, appeared via closed-circuit television in Clackamas County court wearing a suicide smock..." read cable news report of full story complete with photographs. Very excellent investigation.

Part of that report states in part,

" Holt was charged with seven counts of kidnap, robbery, sodomy and murder. His case will soon be presented in a grand jury, and additional charges may be filed. If convicted of the most serious counts he could face the death penalty."

I think, that is very serious an issue.

Here is an excellent link with timeline of evidence:

    This will be key:

"According to court documents, investigators believe Holt tried to clean Heichel's SUV up after he killed her. They found a Febreze bottle inside the SUV that only had a quarter of the liquid left. However, spots of blood were found throughout and a pool of blood and hair were found under the mats.

A fingerprint pulled from the Febreze bottled matched that of Holt, according to detectives."

It is also interesting that Holt confessed to the crime, there is substantial proof of his guilt, and he was still allowed to enter a not guilty plea.

That's automatic on entering not guilty plea.

That is a insightful comment. I am wondering, will the Watchtower Lawyers step in to provide legal support to the killer? Mr. Tylinbrando, thank you for providing additional link to the timeline. I think, the clearer the picture, the better people will know.

The very fact of his long extenuating acts of covering over the incident, gives credence to the motion of him not being insane.

This will come out during the trial, concerning if there's a insanity plea.

He's going to get a life sentence for sure, unless the police department have made critical errors in their investigation.

Its looking more like the attack may have been sexual motivated, there's also a chance of an attempt to steal her SUV,

since he had previously had did this in a another incident.

Among the 6 charges leveled upon him, there's abduction, sexual assault/rape, grand theft and murder.

I still take the information of him being a MS at one time is pure BS.

24 years old and no indication of him being highly regarded in position of the congregation that he attended.

If he had stepped down from being MS a year ago, he would have only been 23 years old !

Sorry that its just unlikely or improbable.

Minimus, I mean no disrespect as I am only curious, but why would his not guilty plea be automatic? In other criminal cases I have seen defendants plead guilty and receive their sentencing by the judge right then and there. With this plea, he will no doubt be given a court appointed attorney since it is clear that he can not afford his own, and he will sit in jail for no doubt close to a year before he comes before a jury. Is it plausible that Hold already has legal counsel and has been advised to plea not guilty?

    Fink,

I am with you about the doubts he was a MS in the past. While it is certainly not unheard of for exemplary men 18 years of age to be appointed as MS, I find it hard to believe Holt could qualify given that he was recently married at a young age and as has been reported, he has had many issues.

The fact does remain that he was married in the Kingdom hall, and as such he would have had to be in very good standing within the congregation at that time. Actually, when I think of it in those terms, it is really not out of the question that Hold may have qualified at one time to be a MS?

Will be interesting as things unfold.
