Frankly, Obama frightens me. He will cater to a specific demographic, like gays or blacks for instance, because they help his campaign and then will largely ignore them while president.

Oh please; the gay, how obama panders them -- unlike Romney who just arent that big on eg. gay rights.

Equal rights == panders == OMG,my country is teh SICK!

    Only in Sab land.

The problem is not Obama, or politicians in general, the problem is the people who elected him. Let's face it, the "free education, free healthcare, subsidized housing, subsidized food, subsidized transportation, etc. etc." message is more appealing to the average American than personal self-sufficiency and personal responsibility. In few years we will be the new Greece, then people will come to their senses and understand the much higher cost of having big brother administering the capital and resources of the nation.

You mean if it is the kind of place where you might imagine a clown would live?

Only if the pay was right. There's more carnies than clowns anyway and they work for pennies on the dollar. The amazing midget flippers are almost ready to start their act and that's just the beginning!

    "free education"

*gasp* Yes, educating our citizens can never lead to any good. Especially when we educate the poor, who could not afford to pay for private schools. DISASTER! No collective good can come of that!

Do people think before they post, or is this really the bubble they live in?

A good education is always the enemy of groups whose power is based on convincing people to ignore reality.

I'd like to think that all of us, being ex-JWs, would understand that above anything else. Any time you have someone, whether a politician or religious leader, trying to make education more difficult, that should be an immediate red flag that something is not right.

In Sab's OP he says ...

What concerns me about Obama is his partisanship, erratic behavior and lack of bipartisan communicative abilities.

One could easily say that toward the Rep. in Congress for the last 4 years as well !

But I would agree to a certain extent to stubbornness upon both political parties in Washington creating a volume of redundant grid lock.

They seem hell bent on ignoring a large portion of this country's population.

Really ? So like saving a good portion of the US Auto industry from collapsing.

Helping out people who couldn't receive proper health care because of inadequate HC coverage.

Being concerned about global warming which could create troublesome effects to the US and globally abroad.

Have you forgotten that it was under the Rep. Bush administration that the US went under a devastating financial recession

brought on by de-regulating financial institutions !

Was that initiative placed upon thinking for the betterment the greater population ? Really ?

The alternative was to once again put someone in the White House who is notably in favor of big business institutions and the elite rich

of the country and to support this select 1% of the population.

Not to say Obama didn't make mistakes in his frst 4 years in office mind you.

Considering the fact that Obama has reinstated regulations involving banking institutions and Wall street, that should be assumed

that he does care about the greater population of the country.

I hate the auto industry, I say let it die a swift death, or maybe even a slow one since both types have been imposed upon our civilization BY the invention of the personal vehicle (damn you Henry Ford!). Car mechanics think they are gods among men because they know magic like replacing timing belts and don't think grease is icky. Regardless, it's been high time for computer controlled hover cars for a while now.

Not sure if you noticed, but the current health care reform bill was based off a republican's idea. They have consistantly been for health care reform, just in a fiscally responsible and less totalitarian manner. Affordable health care for all is non partisan issue.

Being concerned about global warming which could create troublesome effects to the US and globally abroad.

If we are so concerned about global warming why save the auto industry? Smog from vehicle exhaust greatly contributes to our carbon footprint. Only after the sky turned brown did people start thinking there was too many human caused factors damaging the environment. Hover cars WILL fix this, but what are we going to do about the tire industry?

Bush was a fat cat for sure and so is Romeny, but that's the point. The lower and middle class work for the upper, TOP DOWN economics, like the pyramid on the back of the dollar. The government keeps it regulated and running smoothly, but that has been a dream for a long time. We need to go back to a gold standard and start the economic clock over again. Kennedy was trying to do this before he was murdered. Bush was a tool, yes, but Romney is a better tool. He doesn't drink! How's that for a powerful character! The whole cult thing was worrisome, but listening to Jeremiah Wright for many years is no different.

The alternative was to once again put someone in the White House who is notably in favor of big business institutions and the elite rich of the country and to support this select 1% of the population.

Yes because when you "favor" big business, you know like bailing out General Motors, you have a thriving economy. However you don't favor failed business models, you know like General Motors, and you certainly don't set government precedents that encourages sloppy business and races to the top. The legitimate 1% should be given grapes, whores and checkbooks for a healthy economy to sustain itself. If you tax the rich they leave and you can call them selfish, but you will have to yell loud enough for them to hear you overseas where they have set up camp, like in Ireland or something.

Not to say Obama didn't make mistakes in his frst 4 years in office mind you.

Yeah, like deciding to keep Gauntanamo open, but was that really a mistake? We needed that torture house to get the information for the Bin Laden assassination. Or maybe it was the assassination itself that was the mistake? You're always taking a risk when creating a martyr.

Considering the fact that Obama has reinstated regulations involving banking institutions and Wall street, that should be assumed that he does care about the greater population of the country.

Obama cares about his vision for this country which I don't think anyone but himself truly knows. People study his actions and they come up with theories, but he probably just laughs and then moves onto the next phase because it's all going according to his plans, that's for damn sure.
