You might want to click on the various members' names and go to their "topics started" file. That way, you can get a decent overview of the various people's experiences, outlooks and relevant issues.

Welcome to the board Ethos.
So so many topics, so so so many beliefs, doctrines, tacking. I've gone over these many times and have gotten to the point where I no longer feel I need to prove anything to anyone.
I'm sure there will be many a heated debate, as long as everyone is open minded there will be no harm. Be prepared though - using publications doesn't count as the actual word of god. Publications are null and void and only used to show how inadequite that faith's research is. If you can prove JW beliefs from the bible (and I mean all of them not just the JW one) I may reconsider going back. I've been out 7 years so far.

Why should her family shun her because she doesn't believe that Jesus came invisibly in 1914?
Let's stick to one subject and please answer that in a way that is scriptural and can give a proper answer to a grandmother who is being denied the love of her family due to WT rules.

This is not a place where you read a paragraph, find the question at the bottom of the page for the paragraph, and the paragraph has a sentance witth the answer for you to read. Get dressed nicely, go to meeting, raise hand, give answer. If you're really brave, add a few tidbits. If the tidbits are good, you'll be super liked. If they are off wack, well, you'll be offwack. Sometimes, better to not give tidbits, but put in one straight answer a meeting. Pat, pat, pat.
No, this place requires mental work, seeing other sides, and learning to think for yourself.
