Chariklo: okay so there is a special section on your forum where you can write things you normally wouldnt like other people wrote, but if you write it there, it is okay.

That would be funny if it wasn't sad.

    1. I do not possess a forum. Not one. Anywhere. On any subject.

where you can write things you normally wouldnt like other people wrote

    2. What on earth does that mean? That is the weirdest, most bizarrely constructed subordinate clause I've yet encountered, and that in 40 decades of teaching English across all age groups and ability ranges. (Even though someone somewhere on here announced a few days ago that I wasn't educated...that did make me smile!)

    *sigh*

And then there was the overnight bit where someone says that I "bash and bash and bash at atheists". I think, without looking back as I haven't much time this morning, that the bashes there even got themselves into block capitals!

Oh dear. No. *patiently and very, very simply, since I've said this so many times before*

I like atheists. Many are my very good friends. Humanists, too. (Wonder why that good word isn't used here more?) Agnostics too. Also Hindus, Muslims, Pagans, Wiccans, and adherents to all manner of beliefs and none. Everyone can believe whatever they choose to believe, or not, as far as I'm concerned, nor do I know any non-atheist here who believes otherwise.

Not once have I been aware that anything I've written could be construed as "bashing atheists". However, I have tried to get you to look at the reality of what you are saying. I tend to use logic. Sometimes, some of the self-styled atheists feel uncomfortable when this happens. But bash you? No, bless you. I don't bash anyone.

I am child-friendly, safe to have around, house-trained! LOL!!!

Dear BOHM has English as either his second or third language Char, so I think he does remarkably well with expressing himself on here, often explaining to us quite complicated scientific concepts in language that I can understand, a skill he shares with Richard Dawkins, who you also don't like apparently.

    Being an international forum . . . English is not everybody's first language . . . . just sayin'

It seems you have inherited the Noachian gene . . .

    I don't bash anyone.

Of course not . . . it was an honest mistake.

On which bit, in which place, do you see me as making it, Size? More precisely, where do you see me as "bashing" someone?

Edit: I Googled "Noachian gene". Try it yourself! It comes up with a fascinating collection of links including, on search page 1, one about the Atlantean Diaspora and the Noachian lineage, and another about Mars, with a third about longevity genes, but nothing that seems immediately relevant to this thread.

You posted you had been an English teacher for 400 years . . . and then dissed bohm's English. You missed the irony.

No need to google . . . just read your own post.

I have no further comment for you.

Purely subjective interpretation, Size. No offence was meant.

As above, I had not intention of offending Bohm, and I do not believe that many will have assumed I had. But I do NOT possess a forum, nor have any influence over the running of one, and that needed to be said. I will bear in mind, in the future, that he is not a native English speaker, and thank you, Phizzy, for pointing it out. Nevertheless, bashing atheists or anyone is something I do not do and have never done. I don't like having false motives attributed to me, any more than I liked being called, a week or so ago, by one of the posters here, on threads now deleted by a moderator, a liar and a hypocrite. I do not do these things. I do tend to try to get a poster to look at what they are really saying, though. Mostly, the only bashing you'll hear from me is the sound of my head rebounding off the proverbial brick wall.

Bohm, if I have offended you, I am sorry. I did not mean to offend you. I was not intending anything offensive towards you, and I apologise for not understanding that you do not have English as a first language.
