    @JohnMann

    Thts not so funny, the ankh which is an ancestor of the xian cross is nothing more than a snake and a pussy cat. The dock has always been a symbol of life to the ancients and thus was always a central part of worship and religion. Go check what joachim and boaz at the entrance of the temple of Solomon are.

    Look at the belly's muscles of Jesus and you'll see what I mean.

    Yes I totally agree Punkofnice. A religion that starts with a human sacrifice has only one way to go. The Christian doctrine of Redemption that the JWs call the Ransom also makes it so easy to beat the believers over the head with the idea that their lord suffered so much why should not his followers suffer and sacrifice on and on and on.

    If you turn it on it's head and look at what supposedly happened, the Romans crucified someone who claimed to be the messiah. Well they did that. They used terror to keep the conquered nations in check. So what are you going to do when your leader has been put to death, say oh dear maybe it wasn't true after all? Or say well actualy our lord being put to death was all part of god's great plan. Good save!

    OK. I'm not trying to take a stance here (well, I don't think I am.) ... I am of the opinion that god (if he/she/it/they exist), is a megalomaniaic dunce.

    It sounds like you have a stance.

    John_mann & mP - I await to see the pics as yet...it all sounds rather controversial.

    cantleave - the more I see religions the more dangerous and controlling they are.

    Xanthippie - I think the days of religion are teetering on the edge for rational people. I've certainly been doing some thinking on the subject.

    designs - I wonder who's said that.Vlad is cool.

    perfect1 - I think the whole sacrifice of the son thing is barbaric, especially for a 'god' who could have thought of a better less barbaric method.

    It makes total sense, PoN. If one of my kids does something bad, I kill him for it, then so I won't stay made at my grandkids, I kill the other one too. How does that NOT make total sense?

    Entirely possible - Now the penny has dropped. It's logical to make the grandkids suffer too! I love my imaginary sky daddy!
