Bumping for more questions, now that America and Canada are well and truly awake!

Why did they accept the reduction of punitive damages from 21.000.000 down to 8.000.000?
Why was the WTBS of Pennsylvania, together with more WT corporations, not sued as well?
Is the appeal going to be a complete re-trial, or is it up to the WTBS that some parts in the 1st trial violated some applicable laws?
how has the contact been with the lawyers from the WTBS and their legal team?
Great questions Hoffnung.
Bump.

I'd like some clarification on the appeal bond and how it works. Has the WTS had to put into it the full $17 million NOW, or is it only the premium? I.e. does the surety company pay the $17 million (if the appeal fails) and the WTS has to then pay the surety company?
What, in the team's objective view, is the WTS's strongest points of appeal? (Or would that give too much away?)
That's all I can think of for now ...
Oh and I'm wondering about Candace's father's testimony, his apparent lack of recall on some of the events and why he seemed to be so reluctant to support his daughter's recollections. Is there some backstory there? (Too personal?)
Thanks AnnOMaly, all great questions. Even if all of them can't be answered, you don't get anything if you don't ask!

What are the Watchtower's chances of winning on appeal?
This would probably best be answered by Rick, but for obvious reasons, he probably shouldn't. Can Rick point to a legal opinion from someone not involved with the case for their prediction? Or is this question best left alone for now?

I'd like to encourage Candace to take steps to move on with her life as, imo, what she has achieved already is more than I could ever have hoped for. Now my concern is that she enjoy the rest of her life as much as she can.
How would Candace and Kathleen advise active Jehovah's Witness parents to keep their children safe in an organization that has been found by a court of law to be lacking in adequate child care mechanisms?
Is the larger American legal community beyond Team Conti paying closer-than-usual attention to the way this case is playing out?
If so, are they cognizent of the general public's growing awareness of the the problem of institutionalized sexual abuse?
If so, have they considered this: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/child-abuse/240287/1/Something-occurred-to-mee280a6
