  Yes, 00DAD - my point is that the main definition can easily be used for either Rutherford or the Governing Body interchangeably.

  The disclaimer about them only functioning as the FDS when they meet together as a Governing Body is their attempt to make the individual members sound less Pope-like.

  Hmm I never even thought about that one. So if there was no F&DS in the first century to dispense food at the proper time what about the writing of the New Testament? I would think that they would consider that "proper food" right... So if there was no FDS, no GB, until 1919 then Jehovah worked through individual annointed ones to write the bible? Begs the question then does he still do so today? How would they (F&DS) answer this one?

  This type of thinking is proof that the governing body of Jehovah's witnesses are either

  A) Completly delusional like most cult leaders.

  or

  B) Completly dishonest and know 100% that they are fleecing the flock.

  Are there any other options on how they could come up with such BS?

  One thing for sure, they don't come up with new light unless there is some problem they are trying to solve. I predict that because of this change they will stop reporting # for partakers in the future. It also solves the problem why anointed are not consulted world wide if they are all feeding the sheep.

  I may be wrong, but my understanding is this ...

  According to Watch Tower Inc., the Faithful and Discreet Slave was a parable/prophecy dealing with Christ's return ... therefore it shouldn't be confused with the status of Christians prior to 1919, including first century apostles.

  Was there a first century governing body ... according to Watch Tower Inc., yes ... the faith started by Christ was the true Christian faith, they had a governing body (supposedly the apostles and older men in Jerusalem), as time goes on the apostasy sets in, the weeds and the wheat are permitted to grow together, no organization can claim to be "God's Organization" as they are all tainted, however, there are certainly true Christians in faith, some performing true feeding ... but since the appointment of the "faithful and discreet slave" is future, it doesn't exist as an arrangement and therefore, it conveniently does not have to be identified by Watch Tower Inc. throughout the centuries because it would only be in existence as an arrangement from 1919 onward as a reestablishment of true Christianity.

  To me the scripture reads that the master appoints a slave to feed his domestics while he is gone. That fits with the first century bible writers being part of the "slave". The WTBTS says that Jesus returned in 1914 and THEN appointed them to feed his domestics in his absence in 1919. Like another poster wrote, where did he go in 1919? Who fed his domestics between the first and 20th centuries? It is such a mess, they really don't have a clue. I told my wife all of this and she says "we may not understand until paradise" UggggggghhhhhhH!

  When I mentioned that Jesus was going to elevate them above all his belongings on heaven and earth, in effect placing the 8 GB members in charge of the angels that did get a rise out of her. She said the they never said that. I will have to research that carefully, be sure I am correct and then show it to her. That actually may be a chink in the armor.
