The most recent reincarnation of the OM book is the OD book - Organized to Do Jehovah's Will (2005). See p. 16ff. Here they really hammer home the identification of the 'slave' and the 'belongings' far more than in the previous book.

    A couple of highlights:

WHY TRUST "THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE"

There are many reasons to have complete trust in the slave class. First and foremost, Jesus has appointed them over all his precious "belongings." This is a clear indication that he has complete trust in them. - p. 18 [italics in the original]

    ---

Another way to show that we trust the slave class today is to support its decisions. Even though we may not fully understand the reasoning behind certain decisions, we know that upholding them will be for our lasting good. On occasion important issues have been clarified, and we have wholeheartedly supported these decisions. As a result, Jehovah blesses us for our obedience to his Word and to the slave class. We thus show our subjection to the Master, Jesus Christ. - p. 20

The foremost reason given for completely trusting the 'slave' was that Jesus put them over all his 'belongings.' This is now known not to be true and naturally can not be put forward as a reason for trusting the 'slave.' Seeing as this reason for trusting never really was a reason for trusting, how can they be trusted to truly clarify important issues (like why we should completely trust the 'slave') and expect our wholehearted support and obedience?

"The facts of modern history show that in the year 1919 [Jesus] revived these much afflicted disciples and gathered them together in a united body. Then he appointed them as his "slave" class "over all his belongings," that is, over all his royal interests at the earth."

    Bible

    facts,

    Matt. 24:46,47

on the other hand, reveal the above statement to be contradictory and without foundation. says – "Happy is that slave if his master on *arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to you, He will appoint him over all his belongings." (*Strongs Greek word no. 2064 - erchomai)

    1 Cor. 11:26

If the Memorial is still celebrated, then Jesus has not come, and has not appointed the faithful slave over his belongings. Both events will occur simultaneously, not 100 years apart!.

At Luke 12:41-48, Jesus spoke of two other types of slaves who were together in the same household with the faithful slaves - an evil slave, and a slave who did not understand what his master's will really was. If the faithful slave has been so easily identified, who are the other two slaves?

Jesus gave illustrations regarding his followers, referring to them as slaves, and several dozen Scriptures also refer to Christians as 'slaves'. At Matthew chapters 18, 24, & 45, we can read these parables. In each of the accounts, Jesus leaves no doubt that the examples he gives are to demonstrate that every individual slave will be judged on his own account - not in a class or group.

It is patently obvious that Christ's judgment of his slaves, allof his slaves, has not yet taken place.

The apostle Paul confirmed this at Romans 14:12 when he wrote, "Each of us will render an account for himself before God."

yea I think the crazy old guys from NY bit off way more than they can chew on this one.

This is the kind of crazy that converts will have trouble with. Born ins will more readily accept it.

You know if these guys weren't representatives of God here on earth, I'd say they are just making up this crap as they go along. That couldn't possibly be the case though.

Yes AnnOMaly, terrific find. So now we actually have a "first and foremost reason" for NOT trusting anything these guys teach!

What do you expect from a bunch of guys with nothing more than a high school education between the lot of them.

While one or two might actually have some intelligence (defined as native ability, albeit underutilized even deliberately so), none are educated to think logically and critically. Also, all of them have been completely indoctrinated to ONLY see things from a JW perspective: "We are right, we are always right; even when we were wrong we were still 'more right' than any other religion because we're God's Organization."

As a result, none of them are bright enough, educated enough and/or unbiased enough to honestly proclaim, "Look guys, we clearly are completely wrong about just about everything. We need to shit-can our entire belief system and start over from scratch."

I thought the annual meeting talk did not say GB members, did it?

I thought there was some wiggle room there a bit, like they mentioned annointed ones working at world headquarters or something similar.
