Instead of absconding the guns, how about confiscating with a lifetime ban? Say, every time there is a shooting investigation?

We dont have guns in the UK but our army does.... not something I wake up in the morning and worry about. Do you really worry they will do that? More so than the fear of guns on the street, in break ins and at schools?
