I like what bonni-clyde says at first . An assailant uses something other than a gun yet nobody demands they outlaw it ... homeowner defends home with gun yet does the MSM praise gun ownership as a sacred right ... No friggen way

The problem isn't guns.
It is the barbarians that still want to use them.
Next time you pick up your gun, imagine it is a spear.. remind yourself how strong you are holding your spear.
Having a gun means you have power over those that would want to ensalve you. There clearly are not more powerful, more relevant weapons on this planet. Your gun will protect you.
Eat. Drink. Pray. Buy and sell. Breathe the air deeply. You are not vulnerable. Because of your gun, you are safe. You are free.

The guy breaks into a home armed with a crowbar ,and obviously this is a threatening situation for a mother and her children who by natural instinct wants to protect them , so kudos to her for shooting him . He bought his ticket , he new what risk he was taking , he should praise her for protecting her children , and thank his lucky stars he wasn`t killed .He should also see this as a second chance of life and mend his ways , to live a more puposeful existence , maybe helping more folk, who think crime is an easy way to exist .

And… The perp was recently released from prison, after numerous prior arrests.
The Long Island native, who now lives in Gwinnett County, was released from the Gwinnett jail in late August after serving six months for simple battery and three counts of probation violation.
Slater has six other arrests in Gwinnett dating back to 2008, according to jail records.

The very first time I was called up for jury duty, it was for a home invasion. I was familiar with the case because it took place in the town where I worked. The resident was able to free herself and give a description of the getaway car. A high-speed chase ensued just as I was leaving for my evening commute, and it was total madness. This was 5 minutes over the GW bridge in one of the mostly densely populated areas on planet earth.
I was rejected as juror because I had a family member who was a superior officer in law enforcement. I continued to follow the case in the papers with interest. Home invasion, high-speed chase which put a lot of innocent people in harm's way. The media made it out like the police were foolish to pursue and apprehend the perp, who, BTW, was an illegal crimmigrant from a Communist nation where the populace was de-armed decades ago.
You know, one of those Utopian places where violent acts supposedly never happen. Not like *their* gubbermint-owned media doesn't suppress free speech, human rights, or deny ingrained cultural violence resulting from oppression.
Anyway, it came out in later in court that the piece-of-shit perp didn't just break into the home to steal their stuff, he tied grandma to a chair, and raped her 11-year-old granddaughter right in front of her on the living room rug.
Most home invasion rapes are never reported in the news, to protect the victims, especially when minors are involved. There are more than enough instances of home invaders maiming/torturing/killing family pets just for the sheer pleasure of it, too.
The media would have us believe these lovelies just knock on random doors asking to borrow a cuppa' sugar to bake a birthday cake while wielding a frikkin' crowbar. Should the resident just sit back and say, "Please, have a go at my babies, too" ? -

Criminality in the US is the highest in the world, much higher than Mexico. It's double the number of the runner-up: UK.
This is simply a nation of criminals. Many things attribute to that and it's not just gun policy. It's very much correlated how we take care of the less fortunate and the mentally diseased, minorities and the sick. It's also correlated with how religious the population is - all those pro-lifers only care about life from conception till birth.
