BOTR, it's not so much anti-woman as women don't matter. I don't think this is a problem only in the Judeo-Christian group.
On a completely different note, I've always been fascinated with this creation myth:
And on a final discordant note, I've always been comfortable with story, legend, fables, fairy tales and myth. I fairly devoured Grimm's Fairy Tales as a child. Out of these often violent and tremendous stories comes a common culture, a shared story-telling. So what if they aren't factual? It's not like I went out and grew my hair twenty feet to snare my prince charming, or threw water on my evil stepmother.
“Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
G.K. Chesterton
