Isn't it interesting that the Holy Spirit always tells you what you already believe?

This comment reminds me of Penn Jillette's new video on BigThink:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJqCl3Tm0io

He says that the beliefs we should question the most are the one's we want to believe. I am with you, Band, and the rest of the community. I don't want Revelation to be a real article of God. I would MUCH rather it be the ravings of a mad man which is why I should question that assertion. I hated that book and my early posting history shows this. The last thing I ever wanted was to make threads interpreting Revelation symbology. Believe me. Yet, what is true is true and to deny that would be wrong.

I seen no coherent theology here.

I get the idea that you just came here to make blanket statements like these (power plays). Theologies clash, it's not the end of the world.

"I utterly reject YHWH and your concept of Christ. Furthermore, I see no sign of any gifts of the Holy Spirit in posts here. Making stuff up in your mind is not the Holy Spirit."

Band, you utterly reject YWH? Wow. There's a bold statement! Good job God doesn't utterly reject you so easily! And yet you feel qualified to judge whether or not someone else receives gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Frankly, with temerity like that, you must be very sure of yourself! "I see no coherent theology here." Again, wow! Such incredible arrogance! You see yourself as intelligent and educated, but your words...and indeed coherence, or lack of it...frankly, and I'm sorry to say it, give you the lie.

But to reject God and the name by which he called himself, that's a very daring proclamation...rather you than me! Or were you crossing the fingers of your other hand behind your back while you wrote it?

If the Holy Spirit were truly at work would you not convince thousands?

THAT'S what convinces you of the presence of holy spirit/the Holy Spirit... acceptance by thousands?? Then why aren't you still a JW? Because that's their argument: "Look at the growth! Look at how many new members in the last year! Look at how many attend our meetings/Memorial!" Christ chose 12 out of... how many? And JAH chose Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel... Israel out of... how many?

Now I get it: you're not just impressed by the world's "wisdom" but by numbers. Well, you go on and continue on that broad and spacious road, girl. You know, the one MANY find... including, evidently, yourself? Heck, how can you miss it - it's SO broad... even a blind person could find it. Obviously.

    A doulos of Christ,

SA, who's still waiting for that "objective evidence" of YOUR "christianity"... that YOU keep hypocritically demanding from others... even though she realizes you never will... because you cannot... produce it. And she never wanted you to - didn't care, actually - but only marvelled that you have NO problem placing burdens and loads on others that you yourself cannot carry. H word, here...

When I considered the Stone the Builders Rejected, I think of this:

Straight and true, with everything build around and over, plumb.

If I would tell me someone associated with a respected evangelist, why would I tell you, people for whom I have little respect. Believe whatever you want to believe. There can be no discussion here. You accept what you hear. I do not. If I wanted to do so, I could not find the words to describe my relationship with Jesus. Would it be Jesus if I were born in India or China? I suppose the western world is just so much better than Africa and Asia.

    PSacramento,

Roman Catholic~Papal Rome~The Vatican~ the folks that have upsurpped the role of Christ as our *High Priest and King*.. those folks that put a barrier (like the Watchtower does) between God and mankind.

    *Hebrews 3:1, 4:14, 6:20, and 8:1*

Catholic as a term for the "universal church" is not a term for which I am familiar. I would google it but it is late and I have several other comments I wish to make. I am sorry I used that term incorrectly.

    Cofty,

You called me judgemental..... : (

As Cofty has often attempted to belittle me (on another forum) and to mark me with condecending terms, I will choose once again to not take offense as I am aware he is "no true scotsman" ( I would use sarcastic orange but on this forum I don't know how). I am not offended. the sarcasm is the "no true scotsman" jibe.

I have read Cofty's testimony of how he left the Borg and became a "Born Again Christian" for ten years then realized he was delusional then and rejected Christianity when his dear christian friend died in a farming accident and he questioned how a merciful God could take his friend and leave his friend's wife a widow etc.

When I probed him for insight regarding being born again of the Holy Spirit of God, his venomous responses made it crystal clear that he had not. I am not Cofty's judge but I am called to try the spirits to see if they are of God (1 john 4:1). So he is "no true Scotsman".. Cofty lives in Scotland.. it is a play on words/jibe regarding logical falicies ... I find it a wee bit humorous and sad...

Cofty, I prayed for you tonight, for God to farrow the soil of your heart to soften it to receive truth. My prayers for your healing must begin with your heart.

    Band on the run,

I remember that song.. that dates me a bit eh?

Your post regarding your "dating relationship" with Jesus reminded me of a scripture, Matthew 10:33 "But whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my father who is in heaven" then as I read on in this thread, Sabastious has already referenced it. But another scripture comes to my rememberance. It is Romans 3:3..."What if some were unfaithful? Does their unfaithfulness nullify the faithfullness of God?".. Something to consider.

    AGuest,

You remind me of a song... Casting Crowns "Voice of Truth"

    : )
