Many of you know my rantings. But they garnered support. And BlindersOff has similar ideas, though more organized in the white collar sense. But those ideas also garnered support.

Today, I want to announce formally that members of JWN (www.jehovahs-witness.net) WILL be taking part in a letter writing campaign.

Saturday, June 15th, 2013, the Watchtower Society will receive letters from former members of Jehovah's Witnesses, current active members, faded members, and some who never had the misfortune of being referred to as a Jehovah's Witness.

Four Anonymous Letters. They can all say the same thing if needed, but there will be Four Anonymous Letters.

One will find its way to one of a handful of pre-selected Branch Offices.

Two will be sent out to the participants' choices of Kingdom Hall.

One will find its way to one of a handful of major news outlets. This one will have a cover-letter with a name (yours or any other). The cover-letter will have one to two sentences explaining the motivation for sending to this particular outlet. It will close out with "This is the letter I sent to (include the three addresses and distinguish between Branch and Kingdom Hall).

The letters will be written in a format similar to the Branch writing style and printed on mock-Watchtower Society letterhead.

These letters in this format will force them to read something they refused to: your grievances. In these letters, we will air our grievances, leaving the amount of detail to the individual writer. In our closing statement, we will charge the Watchtower Society with an unclean lifestyle and symbolically disfellowship the Watchtower Society and the Governing Body.

This movement needs you. You are the single biggest threat to the Watchtower Society with all you know about their inner workings. Make your voice work for the price of a stamp.

Let JWN know what will be in the Watchtower's mailboxes Saturday, June 15th, 2013 by responding to the thread with a yay or nay.

Grow the movement or stall it with three simple keystrokes and a click of a mouse.

Yeah I'm down. I am not 100% clear on the format you are looking at, but once we consolidate it, I am sure it will be clear.

    Why wait until June?

    Sounds intriguing.

Who's making the mock stationary? Will we be getting pdf copies?

waiting for june because it gives enough time for the idea to be pinged off others but its not enough time for people to lose interest en mass.

and i am pretty good at forging images but i know people who are great at it. i will gladly supply the materials i proposed as the date gets closer.

What will the letters say? What is the goal? What will the letters to the media say?

and the format will be professional lead so that they cant just disregard it immediately. anything that begins with an attack can be identified as something they can easily toss into the trash.

Hi okage, It might help to provide an example letter. An example letter would clarify the writing style, the letter head, and the general flow of the letter.

Although I will not be participating in a letter writing campaign to the WTBTS, I do encourage anyone, who is interested, to write to the WTBTS. Who knows the WTBTS may listen. The WTBTS seems to listen more to money or the lack of it than JWs!!

I would encourage all JWs to shun the WTBTS by not donating money to the WTBTS, not using WTBTS literature when conducting "Bible Studies", not attending WTBTS conventions (or at least not staying in hotels that were recommended by the WTBTS), not loaning money to the WTBTS, and not leaving money to the WTBTS when a JW dies until the WTBTS stops promoting shunning. marking, or not associating with JWs, exJWs, and/or "Wordly People" to JWs.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

    entirely possible

the letters will start with a fluff point. it will introduce your anonymous self in whatever description you would like. build yourself up and talk about your qualities.

air your grievances. begin talking about negative personal experiences. tell your story to the reader. say as much as you want but remember brevity does help. so if two pages is your idea of shortening your story for the reader then feel accomplished. if ten pages is honestly the brief version then feel accomplished.

include a page of inaccurate doctrine or logical fallacies practiced by the wts and jws and demand a public clarification or public retraction of those errors.

close by saying that if they have been teaching things for 130 years as jehovah approved and nothing during that 130 years is practiced today that its considered bearing false witness.

tell the reader that the watchtower society and the governing body are no longer one of jehovahs witnesses.

the goal is awareness. the same letter telling your story will be read by a major news outlet. june 15 rolls around and the new york times gets a hundred letters telling stories from former and current witnesses. it should get them to think about reporting the story. so june 15 rolls around and the l.a. times gets 500 letters. 1000 letters. all stories from people who have lived through what the governing body does on a daily basis.

the other goal is therapy. giving the writer the chance to confront their abuser without fear of sanction or loss. a quiet active member can tell the wts and the media what pain or depression they live through and vent without the fear of being disfellowshipped and losing friends and family.

the disfellowshipped or disassociated witness gets the chance to tell the wts to go screw themselves with a cc to a newspaper or news station.
