Peace to all of you and I pray that God help all of you going thru persecution and ;osing family members because of this cult.

Even tho Hubby felt disappointed that he couldn't talk to her TTATT, he feels the minute he told why he couldn't pray in an invented name of GFod and would have to use the name Yahweh, that was a pretty big statement of truth for her and she told him not to use that name in her house. So I told him he did good.

Sorry I'm late to the thread, it's so encouraging to hear you supporting each other as you come to grips with TTATT. I'm sorry to hear about Grandma and the way she's treated you all. Sounds like the damage to your family is less than it could have been, so thats a plus. Im glad the forum support is a help. Stay strong.

I think I have read the entire thread but still have a question. Why does your father want to antagonize your grandmother by bringing up his concerns about being a JW? Since you live in different areas, wouldn't a simple fade get the job done or does your grandmother have some connection to your local congregation ?

I don't know. I kept telling him she wasn't going to listen anyway. But for some weird reason he felt obligated to try to reach her with the real truth.

But as things turned out, he didn't get to talk to her about that anyway, he just got angry when she kept going on about how that ungrateful patient treated her, that he felt like he had to defend our daughter.

Update: So G'ma was so offended by Hubby saying that Jehovah was not God's real name that she is now calling EVERYONE telling them we have gone apostate. ALL of our family, even tho my daughter and her hubby have said NOTHING to anyone.

Every single JW we've known for the past 40+ years is shunning us and has unfriended us on Facebook and not ONE single person has contacted us to find out if uit's true or not.

Gojira got a couple of NASTY emails from our cousins back East that were full of judgement and critisism, telling her that they were offended lately because they have 'liked' some questionable items on Facebook like the 'DUI sobriety test w/ dancing drunk' [I think it was a 'mock' cop stop but that was hilarious by the way] then her hubby used the word 'Hell' in one of his posts.

Really????

They're going to condemn my kids for that? I'll give 'em something bigger and much better to condemn!!!!

Interesting to note that when I was in college, in my history class, the professor pointed out that our support of Britain in WW1 was not even decided upon until right before we jumped in, in 1917. There was a huge contingent of Americans that wanted to support Germany. There was a moment when it could have gone either way, with Britain or with Germany. so, why 1914 and not 1917? It's still just a lot of nonsense.

Your grandmother has been infected with the "I-can-buy-Salvation-by-working-for-the Watchtower" meme.

To win her attention you will need to convince her that YOU are more powerful than The WATCHTOWER (and you are) or convince her that she has been the victim of HE BIG LIE - a LIE that is so collossal that many cannot see it, because it bends light around it.

As you already realize, it is unlikely that grandma will admit to being a victim of the WT scam; look at all the hopes and dreams she has invested in them. She will lose these dreams if she wakes up.

Still, hope srings eternal in the human heart, and you can't be faulted for hoping she will wake up.
