i don't know this man personally, i don't want to be held as his supporter, because i do not know the man, but i do know that he outlines many of the problems:

In his wide-ranging argument about immigration, perennial wake-up-caller Buchanan finally seems a little despondent. The West is nearing death by drowning under a torrent of non-Westerners, the preponderance of whom, he insists, are just trying to earn more and live better than they did in their countries of origin. Some few are bad actors, but they would be manageable if the total number of immigrants were much smaller. Crucially exacerbating the crisis are attitudes fostered by original homelands and others neglected by host nations. For example, Mexico, with its permanent, inalienable citizenship and historic grudge against the U.S. for the latter's Mexican War-facilitated purchase of half of Mexico's original territory, actively discourages Mexicans in the U.S. from becoming U.S.-identified. Simultaneously, U.S. elites downplay "Americanization" in favor of transforming most of the populace into a low-wage workforce fragmented by linguistic and cultural differences. Look to Europe, which from Britain to Russia, Buchanan argues, is much nearer cultural collapse, to see the U.S. in 2050--or sooner. Ray Olson

    Hey Kirk,

I think Tool is just expressing an opinion. For every rock band past their prime, there is someone still making hits about Cali. Kendrick lamar hails from LA. RHCP are LA die hards.

Regardless.....who cares? The CA economy is in trouble. But it will survive. NY will too. NYC is hard, Calir less so. Although not as soft as many think. Both areas are liberal hubs, and simultaneously kings of commerce. Both areas are diverse as hell, and mesh several cultures in one city or area. Both are areas immigrants have flocked too. Cali has movies and entertainment, NY has wall street and finance.

They are much more similar than different. I can understand why someone would like to live in NY. I am not one of them. Not for an extended period anyays. Been there, done that. I like my 345 days of sun here in San Diego thank you very much.

i believe that black people have made the united states a better place. i believe that especially east coast blacks, upon the principle of iron sharpening iron, have served to make us east coasters stronger and sharper, and we have served to do the same with them (in many cases). i take a lot of pride in my country when things like this happen, it is what separates us from places like britain or pick your western euro country(which are fine but do not have this in the same way). we in many cases sharpen each other big time, a lot of the east coast orientals have provided some of this as well. i was baptized by a big black dude, he had given the talk at the assembly....i take pride in that, this guy was one badass mother. the power he exhibited in the talk and clarity was amazing, and you will not have a chance to see something like that in many other places.

problemaddict: you got blinders on my man. the west coast is so completely fucked lol. the problem is you are sitting in that little oasis called san diego, i was actually just there a few months ago in the gas lamp district. some of these cities are, i can't even think of the word, there is just absolutely no semblance of anything...just like over here you got the gun toting wild men waiting to shoot people on the border....then you got the mexicans claiming the land as theirs (phoenix) where katt williams was in that video. the northern california cities are ok , sac and san fran etc. los angeles? when i was at the hotel there they said on television DO NOT GO OUTSIDE...haha the pollution was so bad they had to tell people not to go outside.

I just rented " End of Watch." I will say if even half of that stuff is true then I will never move out there. Now last time I went to NY, it was great! Everyone I talked to was great.

Greetings captain k from a fellow generation y'er. Man it seems to me your watching to much tv, you tube, and pop culture; the world is run by the few and rich, and toss some chaos into the mix, they could care less about east coast, west coast bs, they flock where the money is easy and where the tools are available. I happen to reside in the southwest where zero attention is given and thats great for me. In the SW we run around like the taliban, driving through the hills with our AKs and rifles, stock piling food and ammo cause it makes sense....so let the economies fall.

    Kirk,

You get a pass because of your ignorance and your "tourist historianism". When you find the words to explain what you think you saying, please use them. Until then, lets jsut assume you know about as much of life as I do out there since we haven't lived in each others shoes. Even though safe to say I have probably travlled to a crap load more places out there than you have out here.

Gas Lamp is a nice little area. Not sure what you didn't like about it. Was it the beautiful women? Seafood? The underground bars? The nice weather? The variety of food? Not to keen on fish tacos?

Dude you need to cool it on the hashish and relax. Nobody thinks the states out here still belong to Mexico any more than people thing Louisiana still belong to the french. The honorable Katt Williams audience aside of course.

i said san diego was an oasis. i got laid within 5 mins(exaggeration but not far off) of being there so yea, was pretty good. i stayed at one of the top of the line hotels, i'm sure you know it. it doubles as one of the biggest clubs in the area. the back of it faces the ballpark. i walked into the hotel, they had a huge line to get into the club, i walked past the line because i was going to my room, and the girl i guess she figured better to just hook up with me, rather than wait in line, so i was ok with that. san diego was fine, yea. that was my point. but many places in the region are not. just read the buchanan book, is he a crazy tourist?

from crackpot extremist to heroic statesman

everyone that speaks up is crazy right? until you figure out that you have just been lazy and they know what they are talking about. they turned pat into a nut and fired him from msnbc, and then people are like wow, he was just telling the truth, he's not a racist after all.
