I tend to agree that if the religion were to end it would be gradual and because of apathy and also because they are being exposed.

I can see the results from the advice to shun "faders" like me. My few JW "friends" have pulled back and are far less friendly than in the past. I expected as much. On the other hand, ex-JW friends of mine think I should cut loose these friends because they will flip like a light switch. It is sad but true.

When I first joined the JW religion (what a mistake) I saw the hard-core types you described. Now, they are old and dying off. These were the people who criticized me because I work full-time, so it is hard for me to like them. Try as I may, I never related to them. I never accepted the blind fanaticism and gullibility they displayed. I never accepted it when the religion said they were the fulfillment of certain prophecy. I could never swallow it.
So, I guess I never 100% bought the religion's teachings or claims. Thankfully.
