On a recent thread here about an announcement made by the COBE, with the aim of extorting 10 grand from the servant body, different allegations were made that the request sound Nigerian?.
My question is, DO Nigerians really have bad reputation?

Yes.
Many email scams originate in Nigeria
Why, no, no they don't.
In fact, I am a Nigerian prince. I have $40 million US dollars, and I'm willing to give you half if you just supply me with your Social Security Number and bank routing number.
What could possibly go wrong?
JUst look at how many online sellers refuse to ship to Nigeria!
I am sure this isn't news to you, your Excellency, but here are two notable Nigerians.

When will the North make peace with the South?
I had a guy from Nigeria attempt to buy a flute off of me from Craigslist. He sent a fake Paypal email saying that the amount I was asking for ($100 + shipping and handling for Nigeria) had been deposited in my account. When I called him on the fake email, he stopped emailing me... Kind of feel bad for the guy... He wanted a flute. lol. And I probably would've sent it to him myself if he had asked nicely.
Yes. Here in the USA they are a joke. The scam they run is a running joke to many here in America. No offense to your personally.... And no I will not send you money.
I sold a $3900 item to a nigerian on credit (this was a christian nigerian with no tribal marks).
after he paid $1500 of it, he moved to texas, he changed the terms of the payments to a lower weekly amount, but he eventually paid me.
2 moths ago I bought an electronoc item from PC Richards here in Jersey, the salesman was a nigerian with tribal marks, he treated me good.
People are people! And prevalence leads to stereotyping. Anyways, proudly NA-I-JA!!!
Experience of Nigeria. We land in a small airplane owned by a contract company, taxi up to waiting line of armored trucks disembark into waiting trucks surrounded by armed ex military contractors with serious voices who race into said cars and speed away. We take twisting random routes through some of the worst images of poverty and filth one could imagine. Race into a walled modern compound surrounded by well trained former military men who are well armed. Do a little bit of work, and run the gantlet in reversed. I was there for 82 hrs and was terrified the whole time. I have never worked harder or better in my life. It was an adrenalin rush.
