Care to comment on the 2nd page of the (6 year old) article where Abdusmatov is countered by mainstream opinion?
All the same thanks for highlighting a minority alternative theory which has gained close to zero acceptance.
I will note to bump this thread in 2014 to verify if Abdusmatov's predicted Ice Age has begun.

It would have happened even if mankind were not here, deal with it and adapt.
Do humans impact their environment and thus the climate? Obviously.
Are we facing an apocalyptic or catastrophic future because of that impact? Increasing it seems we are not.
slimboyfat- One of the immediate issues for many large concentrated populations is water as highlighted in the opening study from the glaciologists. If a large population was relying on the annual snow pack to fill reservoirs and dams and that is changing then that population has a real problem. Rationing will be the first recourse which will impact families and businesses and if prolonged could bring on recessions and migration to other areas.
70,000,000 acre feet annualy in the LA area, most cities around here are operating on a 2 day reserve.
1 acre foot is 325,851 gallons.
Maybe catastrophic is to extreme a word but we need to radically alter how we live in these dry climates.
@tt2c who earlier said:
I choose to keep an open mind on the subject.
but also says
It would have happened even if mankind were not here, deal with it and adapt.
So which is it?
Designs it's all about water now. it's the 'new gold'. just look at the new Arab states. Dubai, the amount of energy they use to sustain their luxurious lives.
Every year there is panic about water in urban areas. Housepipe bans, drought, panic.
We can't live without water, lol.
just not enough of the good stuff. The city of Carlsbad Ca. here has beening trying to build a desalination plant but the environmental impact on marine life is pretty steep. You can imagine how many fish get sucked up with 100 million gallons of water per day.
@betsy - So which is it?
The two are not mutually exclusive, perhaps you would be well served by a course in logic.
