I consider myself more a "moderate" in my thinking, whether it be politically or otherwise.
Are YOU More Of A "Liberal", "Conservative" or Something More In Between?

Moderate Dem. Being conservative just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. Maybe it was all those years in the cult. Totally ADD

Fiscally conservative, socially liberal. My philosophical political orientation is libertarian, which puts me at odds with both parties.

I am a social liberal. I think gay marriage is perfectly acceptable. It is not the role of government to decide who should be the recipient of an ejaculation. I think that birth control is much cheaper than the alternatives and is a good investment. I have no problem with government paid birth control.
I am a conservative from a fiscal perspective; I think everyone should live within their means and pay their bills. Personal financial planning should be a mandatory course in a public school financed by tax dollars.
I believe there is a role for government in providing benefits for the poor and elderly. I believe that Keynsian economics is a good thing.
So, overall I consider myself a conservative.

I see Beks is up to her usual high quality commnuication.
I hate both parties and all labels. For awhile I was a Democrat, then I became a Republican. Now I'm not anything. In the last couple of years I've changed my views on same sex marriage, progressive taxes, legalized drugs, and most international affairs. I'm still opposed to abortion at a personal level (but don't think the government should regulate it), I'm opposed to most gun control measures, I think endless public debt is an immoral burden on our children, I prefer self-reliance to government support, and I think our public schools are an abject failure.
Last time I brought this up Beks told me I'm still a right winger, so I guess I'll wear that label with pride and no sense that it actually means anything.

I am very much a liberal. I do feel fiscally conservative. But I don't side with one side or the other automatically.
As a fader, I don't vote. Besides, our two-party politics in the United States is a bunch of nonsense. I rarely support all the issues of one side or the other, and there should be a chance for people outside of those two parties to get into office.
If stuck with the either/or choice, I would always choose aiding the poor and the rights of individuals over fiscal concerns.
One (of many) area I don't side with liberal politics in the United States is Gun Control. I do believe that responsible people can be responsible gun owners able to protect themselves.
