Resistance is Futile
Center-left Moderate.
My general policy during election years is to vote for the political party that seems least harmful to the country and the world as a whole.

My general policy in election years is to vote for third-party candidates as much as possible.

Fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I believe in freedom, and a government that stays out of peoples bedrooms, and operates within its means. I hate to see a govermenment that is so stupid as to spend about 1 million dollars studying snail reproduction when the country is broke, stuff like this needs to stop.

Socially liberal, I support gay marriage, pro choice, etc.
Fiscally moderate, I believe we should, as a nation, live within our means. I am being impacted by the sequester, but that doesn't bother me as much as the fact that they don't seem to be able to pass a budget. My husband and I looked at our budget and figured out what things to cut out, since less money is coming in. We could do that because we live within our means, have savings put aside and we know what things are needs and what things are wants. Why can't government do the same? I am registered democrat, but I am considering going independent, as neither party seems to know how to compromise, or do what is right for the country.

Liberal...so much so it feels like the Democrats are what the Republicans should be.
If I'd my way healthcare and "higher" education would be accessable to all. Companies would be encouraged toward hiring locally, penalized for laying off if they are turning a profit. Lobbyists would be sent packing. Criminals would be reformed, not simply imprisoned and made even worse criminals. At the same time, I'd eliminate bureaucracy and one-size-fits-all rules. Government is a service for the people...it can be made smarter, less wasteful. No need to spend a billion dollars on a bomber, when that money could go to research fighting cancer and other threats that actaully kill people. No unnecessary wars, no meddling in other nations.
Of course, in actually, I’ve become a rather nonpolitical person. I hate the divisiveness of politics and on both sides, the lack of thinking, the lies, the negative campaigning. I try to leave my voice at the voting box and accept people no matter what party they vote for.

That's called basic research. That's what the NSF does. Where do you think Universities get much of their research funding from? Researching snail sex sounds trivial, but it could actually help answer important questions over why higher organisms reproduce sexually versus asexually. The NSF gets only a few billion out of the budget. Not even .2 percent of the total. The budget problem isn't NSF funding.
