Wheat = Anointed Christians
Weed = ?? religious organizations?
Am I understanding correctly that this illustraion, according to Governing Body, has absolutely nothing to do with the great crowd, or any other person other than the anointed who are gathered into God's Watch Tower Organization?
Data Dog, looks like you and DNCall already noticed that adjustment. Wonder how many heads that will fly over.
I hope the JWs notice the "Of Unknown Length" sprawled across the page. That means you have time to go to school, make a life, have some babies, etc, etc.
And why is there no mention of the great crowd? This really seems like the year when so many should wake up but sadly they won't.
Not only did they push the anointed out of the picture during their last flash of light, now it's the great crowd too.
No grey areas, just black and white
Black = Bad = Imitation Christians
White = Good = Anointed Christians
I do hope this omission does get some of those 'great crowd' thinking.
They really aren't that bright up top.
new light?.....I never believed in black lightbulbs till now.....does Jehovah really expect us, mere humans , to make head or tail of all this?.....much confusion now when you add in the Daniel book about the time of the end and kings etc etc..........rapidly becoming all meaningless gobbledygook....
A lot got miffed over the 1995 or thereabouts change in the generation teaching didn't they? So maybe a lot will leave or just give up over this one too. Maybe in 100 years time the JW phenomenon will be an interesting item of history to study because there'll be hardly anyone left in it.
woke up : you are right. because
before one can become an "anointed"* one has to have the earthly hope/right to life, - in order to sacrifice it, as Jesus did.
like the apostles who had an earthly hope before they received the understanding, the heavenly call.
You might call the "anointed"* "cream of wheat" of breakfast fame.
In their self-absorbed mindset the "anointed"* writers forgot that the majority of their readers are official non-partakers* and really want to know "where do I fit in."
There is only one crop of christians, that is why jesus never mentioned classes of-or even miracle -wheat*.
DN call: *** like you aptly stated--- the asteric is to highlight the absurdety of the wt nomenclature.
Matthew 24:29 says quite clearly: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days... the sign of the son of man will appear in heaven..."
The sign of the son of man appears when the messiah arrives at the 2nd coming, so the "great tribulation" that occurs does so before the second coming and is completely OVER before the messiah arrives!
Anyway, the "holy ones" is a reference to the Jews and JWs who are attacked during WWII and the Holocaust. The "flesh" that is saved are the remnant of Jews that were not exterminated. So the reference about cutting short the days or else "no flesh would be saved" is a reference to the potential of Hitler killing off the Jews as a nation. Zech 13:8 limits the extermination to two-thirds of the Jews during this great tribulation, which did occur; six million out of nine million were killed.
This also means the entity that carries out this attack and extermination of the "holy ones", that is, the Jews (but also persecution of JWs) is the "disgusting thing" causing desolation. Thus the "disgusting thing" is not the U.N. but Nazism. The Reference in Revelation to the UN attacking Babylon the Great is a reference to the UN turning on the secret societies behind the CFR, the Trilateral Commission and the CIA which was founded by "Skull and Bones", all associated with the ancient pagan "mysteries" of Babylon and Egypt.
As usual, the WTS is clueless now as far as the truth and correct fulfillment of many Bible prophecies.
Keep in mind, the "great tribulation" does not fit Armageddon! That's because women with no children are able to flee into the mountain and save themselves! But women with children who can't do so without abandoning their children are killed. Since when does fleeing into the mountains make one safe from Armageddon?
But when you have the correct understanding, that the "holy ones" here are natural Jews, who were to undergo this tribulation, specifically stated by Daniel upon his own people, and you recognize this as the Holocaust, then fleeing to the mountains literally saved some!
In modern fulfillment, Judea was where the resettled Jews lived, which was primarily in Eastern Europe. Jerusalem was the primary center of the resettled Jews and thus Warsaw, Poland, by far the largest concentration of Jews in Europe; thus anti-typical Jerusalem is a reference to Warsaw, Poland. In late 1939 the Nazi army literally surrounded Warsaw as the Roman army did to Jerusalem in 70 CE. That was the fulfillment of the "disgusting thing" in a holy place. Nazism is considered the "disgusting thing" since it is occultly linked to the ancient "Mysteries" of ancient Babylon. But this was the sign to flee! If you did not, then soon the Nazis sealed off the Jewish ghettos which were then liquidated.
Again, note that "Immediately after the tribulation of those days" is when the sign of the son of man appears! So how is it that Armageddon would be completely over before this sign appears? On the other hand, this shows that the second coming would occur shortly after the Holocaust. Further the Bible says the messiah would be "near at the doors" once the fig tree began to bloom. The fig tree is a reference to the State of Israel. Thus the 2nd coming would not occur until after the State of Israel is set up! The State of Israel is set up after the great tribulation is over -- completely over. The WTS tries to suggest that the "sign of the son of man" occurs near the very end of Armageddon but during it. The Bible says "after" and after means it is completely over.
In actual fulfillment, Christ takes up the body of one of his followers who undergoes the life of the prodigal son. The prodigal son messiah is tested for 40 years which ends around the beginning of the 70th week of 1989-1996. That means the messiah would be born around 1949-1950, which is when the "sign of the son of man" would begin to appear in heaven. The State of Israel was set up in the Spring of 1948, so indeed the birth of the messiah, an imperfect man who would become the Christ later on during the 70th week, occurs shortly after the State of Israel is set up. The messiah-to-be was born in early 1950. The "sign of the son of man" seen in heaven is a cloud image of a dead black infant's face.
Oh, well, so much for what really happened.
I have a problem with their explanation of the sequence of events leading up to Armageddon. Rev. 16 discusses the last seven plagues visited upon mankind. The destruction of Babylon the Great occurs during the seventh plague, right at the end of the tribulation. They view it as the beginning of the great tribulation.
