For a more complete record of my ignorance on this subject:

We would just read your old posts for that.

Everyone filters information according to their worldview, it is impossible not to. That very examination necessarily requires an element of faith or belief in some foundational framework. Nothing wrong with that. Real science isn't right or wrong, it just is what it is; but it must be interpreted in order to be useful.

However, the faith needed for a traditional "millions of years" paradigm certainly seems to require more faith than a biblical worldview, based on this Dino DNA evidence.

FACT: DNA cannot survive for millions of years, Yet we have reports of Dino Dna from credible sources

FACT: Dino bones shouldn't smell like stinking, rotting cadavers after millions of years, but many do

FACT: Dino SOFT TISSUES found in porous limestone shouldn't exist after millions of years, but many dino soft tissues do exist

Additionally, this recent locking down of the upper age limits of DNA at less that 10,000yrs ~ certainly now provides a scientific basis for not rejecting the many reports of Carbon 14 dating of dinosaur soft tissue that yield results in the thousands, not million of years.

It's funny how you talk about filtering information and then claim a but of stuff as fact as if you have no filter. Are you familair with self awareness?

This is exactly what Mary was pissed off about with young earth creationists.

Those are not facts. Science does have to continue learning to figure this out. Maybe they will or won't. BUT : Those are theories.

Perry, you can dismiss all of science and automatically accept the Bible if you want. But I could do the same as you with facts about the account in the Bible not lining up.

Fundies, YEC's, Bible thumpers, all you guys are always going to pick apart and look for holes in science even if you have to stretch the truth. Enjoy keeping your mind closed.

Young Earth Perry is still with us!

He paints a canvas for us. These animals haven't been around that long. Dinosaurs playing tiddly winks with Adam and Eve.

Perry, my friend, you still are absent from a thread dedicated to you.

Speed of light, Perry. Speed of light!

The universe did not come to be a scant few thousand years ago, after a mere 144 hours of sidereal time in the making.

Reject lies, Perry. Quit kicking against the goads. Accept truth. God, the universe, and everything are far, far greater than the narrow little interpretation of a translation of an old book that you have subscribed to.

    God bless you, Perry.

Why didn't God get the dinosaurs in the Bible (besides the inside cover of the green NWT)?

It's all a test from God. Not a test of the majoritiy of us, just Perry. Doing great, Perry.

The Tyrano DNA discovery of 2005 intrigued me and still does NOT because I think it could prove a bronze age religious tome true but that it brings a new facet to the equation. The Bible is mythology just as surely as the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Vedas BUT............these writings do record the minds of humans from past ages and they themselves were recording things that had been heard by oral tradition handed down through the eons to them. I have always found the references to 'dragons' intriguing. There have been writings about and drawings of fantastical creatures from all points of the globe. These representations were not just from observing bones IMO. That some humans could have been eye witnesses to such creatures at some long ago point in time does not strike me as impossible. It may not be found in my lifetime but I am pretty certain that if I could eavesdrop on my great, great, grandchildren 100 years from now, what I believed as scientific fact might very well be the brunt of jokes by them.

I personally don't hold to the view that the current dating methods are infallible. Science is beautiful in that it is constantly changing and updating.

What I see a lot of in these debates is fear on both sides. Those who cling to CURRENT scientific findings are very sensitive to anything that smacks of creationism. Those who find articles like the one on the Tyrannosaurus DNA believe it supports the Bible and creationism.

    Both are wrong IMHO.

The whole paradigm of what we know now could be all very very incorrect. BUT, it will be SCIENCE that will correct it. Not faith.

if you read the actual paper, the propose ideas for how DNA -if dinosaurian in origin- could have been preserved.

ofcourse perry dont care for that, he just "knows" this must be DNA and he "knows" it couldnt possibly have been preserved.
