is it me or does it say to keep the "little ones" among the women? so they were keeping the little girls for sex? or am i way off here, i know they kept the virgins, but i assumed they were woman, not children. anyone know if this is the case? if so this is even worse than i first thought.

Why is it so alarming that Jehovah would constantly kill innocent children, when the people who worshiped this god, would kill children

for simply dishonoring the child's parents ?

Are we made in God's image?

If so then according to Romans 2:21-22 it says this:

"do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself? You, the one preaching “Do not steal,” do you steal? You, the one saying “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You, the one expressing abhorrence of the idols, do you rob temples?"

So along these same lines of reasoning couldn't you say, you the one saying do not murder, do you murder?

Then point out Romans 12:17 " Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men."

So does God not hold himself to the same standards he expects of others?

Ask a question then shut up and make her do all the talking. Keep asking yourself if she is really answering the question you asked, or is she tricking you into a change of subject?

Give her a guilt trip for any tricks she tries. Feign being offended.

Remember that you don't need to justify leaving as you haven't actually left. You want her to justify remaining with a church with this infanticidal god.

Show her pictures of kids getting killed in wt pubs, especially pubs she raised you with and that she would have studied.

You need her to tell you she has problems with her beliefs and she won't do that if you are doing all the talking, so practice a bit of shut up.

It was more of a rhetorical question. I certainly did NOT say that it's okay to punish a child for its parents' sins.

And how does it demonstrate JUSTICE to execute an innocent child for the sins of its parents?

Jehovah is supposedly the example of true justice... yet, instead of holding people accountable for their own choices (aka, "sins"), he takes out his form of "justice" on a newborn child who doesn't even have the capacity to understand right from wrong. That isn't justice, it's barbaric.

Although, as an atheist, my personal take on what actually happened (if the story has any truth to it at all) was that the child died and David interpreted his newborn son's death to be god punishing him for taking another man's wife and having schemed to have that man killed when she became pregnant with the child.

In my line of work, newborn babies sometimes die, although thankfully with much less frequency than they did thousands of years ago. Still, when it happens, parents beat themselves up over things they may have done or not that "caused" their baby to die. They have a hard time accepting that such a terrible thing was nobody's fault. I can see David and Bathsheba going through the same sort of thought process, with or without the proclamations of a so-called prophet.

Is it wrong for all the partial birth abortions to be allowed as doctors attempt to save babies five weeks younger than all those babies those killers are stabbing with a ice-pick in the building or office next door?

This doctor back East who was killing babies and the staff could hear the children screaming after they were delivered alive, is it good for Mankind to kill all those Babies?

Is it wrong for mankind and woman to kill babies because they not convenient? Who is mankind to complain to God, when you have countries in Asia who are digging eight month old babies out of mothers and killing them? Trash can's full of babies from abortion mills, baby designer as the implant of eggs into a mother are picked for "twins" and four possible babies are scraped off (killed) because they are not the sex the parents want.

Who is right, those who say life has no meaning and abortion should be allowed up to a day before the child is born and who are we basing our moral compass and direction off? We are all Soil and Green, dirt and blood so why do we complain that God might overlook some killing when our world is killing tens of millions of children every year through abortion?
