A person who can pioneer can work a job, unless the pioneering consists 100% of telephone and letter witnessing and the person is confined to an iron lung machine. However, just because a person is capable of performing a job doesn't mean there is a job available for them to take. in some areas, disability payments are a substitute for long term unemployment insurance. I'd rather see people who can work do something productive, but that's not how the system is designed here in the US.

In Australia if you're unemployed and on unemployment (Newstart, or 'the dole') you have to do a zillion different things that show you're looking and applying for work. Disability pension on the other hand is once you get it, and it's hard to get, you're on it. If you work more than 8 hours a week and report it to the social security office, Centrelink, they will take you off it as they will then deem you able to work. I really should denounce that sister. She was so horrid to me on facebook.

	I got a hold of the right phone number for reporting people who are cheating government agencies and reported her. THey actually did follow up with me, but at the time I rerported it she wasnt collecting anymore.

I found Centrelink's number (Australia's agency for these things) online but I know I'd have to wait on hold forever and a day. Also, I sort of feel bad about wanting to dob her in. She used to be a friend, until she gave me such a harangue on Facebook and declared she must unfriend me because she could no longer tolerate my liberal views on other people's religion!!! So she really cut me, and to denounce her would feel like revenge.

Technically from the Watchower and Jehovah's witnesses standpoint, we as ex-JWs or apostates are under or part of satan including all human governments.Therefore, their depending on government for welfare in order to preach is something in fact, like indirectly taking advantage of 'us'. I do not know where to draw a line. Sometimes, you have some JWs working for the government for which they condemn. And still, you have the watchtower being apart of the UN yet its consider a wildbeast, a part of satan. Its way very difficult to draw a line.

I never had a problem being a government employee. Heaps of JWs I've known are/were public servants, teachers, builders, cooks etc for the government. I guess the Australian government is not that satanic. They never make you swear allegiance to them.

I knew a few pioneers that were on the doll , they rationalised the Govt. was part of satans system so they never had a problem telling " porkies " to remain on the doll , theocratic warfare you see.

WOW the FLDS (Fundametalist Mormons) called that practice "bleeding the beast." I could never, as a Christian, behave in that way. It's against what Jesus said about being faithful in least, no matter how you justify it. It's terrible! Our tax dollars supporting their coffee breaks.

Way back when I was aux pioneering (while working part time), there was a reg pioneer who was same age as me that was on the dole... Didn't think it was fair my taxes paid for her to knock on doors...

It's not! I didn't think it was permitted. Maybe we should go to A Current Affair or Today Tonight with this story. They love dole cheat stories.
