"I went to my convention this past weekend in Brooklyn, NY. Three wonderful days of spiritual food that no one will want to miss. Many timely reminders were discussed, such as how to avoid bad association, apostasy, getting caught up in materialism that can damage our spiritual well-being. Many demonstrations and real life experiences were given from brothers and sisters about how they are able to carryon spiritually despite health or other problems they face. We had experiences from some who at one point were inactive and have now returned to Jehovah. There were points that came across especially for our Bible students, as to how they can identify the truth, also our young ones who stand up for their beliefs in school by proving that there is a God and his word the Bible is the truth. We had a drama on Friday, which brought out song no. 111- He will call!!!. Most of us in the audience were crying. There were many new releases including the " Study Guide for JW" which will be available electronically after Dec 2013. It is a new tool designed to make research for JW easier, something like the reasoning book but in electronic format and is said to be much easier. Then we had 5 new tracts that were released. One our fellow bro/sis posted a pic of them in the earlier part of this topic. They are very easy to use, you ask HH the question as shown on the tract, there are 3 multiple choice answers to show so HH can make their decision, and scriptures printed out on them to show HH the truth from the Bible. The tracks are about the same size as our invitation tracks. Note: The info from JWArchives is misleading as they failed to even get the theme of the tracts correct as well as the rest of the releases. On Sat we had about 9 or 10 new ones that symbolized their dedication by water baptism. We also had new releases on that day, a wonderful book "Imitate their Faith" 208 pages, the same size as the "Bearing Thorough Witness about God's Kingdom" book that we used for congregation Bible study before we started the Jeremiah book. The brother said in the future we may be using this tool as a part of our congregation Bible study. On Sunday, we also had two brochures, one for the little ones, my Bible lessons which is a compiled little brochure of what is JW.org. Its target is for those 3 and under, and the other brochure is "How Can you have a happy family life?". Points were brought out that we shouldn't give up on our relatives, ones who currently oppose the truth, as you never know what will change their hearts. The drama Sunday is an eye opener, what can we learn from the eg. of Esther when Jeh's people came under persecution. Many wonderful things are in store for all who have their conventions upcoming and even though we may place our experiences here of ours, it does not replace in any way the awe felt when attending. Please try not to miss any day as it was truly a blessing from Jehovah.
