Do Animals Have Souls?

Qcmbr: The problem doesn't get any better if we start suggesting that god allows certain types of spirits to inhabit multiple species ( a cat spirit in heaven could be in a lion, tiger or domesticated cat for example) because that still struggles with the evolutionary cut off points, where do birdlike dinosaur spirits get the boot and the bird spirits start getting inserted?

Great point Q. It also effectively nullifies Cold Steel's original claim, namely, that Jesus' atonement applies to all life at anytime in history, down to the cellular level.

If god's plan is to have life start in heaven, then send it to earth only to become obsolete/extinct, then apply an atonement to it by the killing of his own son, it seems more to be a macabre opera than the eutopian big circle of life CS asserts it is. And, it makes the whole idea of an "atonement" to rescue these same doomed life forms quite absurd, if god's plan was to obliterate them from physical existence in the first place.

And, of course, all this is moot in light of the fact there's not a shred of evidence any religious person can present to substantiate their claims.

In answer to the opening question, yes. I believe so. But I don't have all the answers.

My own belief is that the atonement of Christ covers animals, humans, bugs, plants and everything with life.

Awesome! Jesus died so that quadrillions of paramecia could have their sins forgiven and enjoy eternal life!

    What a stand-up guy.

Does his atonement cover wookies too?

    Yes, it does.

The atonement applies to ALL life forms- even fictional ones in fictional star systems.

I think if wookies weren't on the ark I don't think they are covered.

The only animals that do not have souls are gingers.

Key, if kangaroos were on the Ark, there's no reason to believe Wookies were not.

Also, Cold Steel says T-Tex is covered under Jesus' atonement, and "evidently" no T-Rex was on the Ark, so Wookies are golden.

    gingers?

Nor sure what kind of animal that is, but I know ginger is a root plant, and a living thing, so it also benefits from Jesus' sacrifice.
