These ancient South Americans made surfboards of tightly woven reeds, you wonder if watching dolphins surf gave them the idea.

the human spirit is not to be repressed: bethelites (not heavies) are known to have gone out very early to the Ocean beaches to catch waves before punching in for their shifts. is that why they moved all facilities inland? and

Yes the ocean has a feminine nature. Tranquil one moment then wham heaving the next, warm one day, freezing the next. Bright bluegreen, then grey and ominous. Playful then deadly.Ultimately though nurturing and a sustainer of life. This obviously plays into the scenario of being reborn when spat out of a tube. There is nothing like setting up a barrell, being covered by the lip watching it curve and thunder but seeing the way out and finally being released back in to the "real" world.

I have surfed many times with dolphins, sometimes in the wall of the wave, sometimes flipping and spinning around me and on a few occassions I have released my board and swum with them and even patted them. They are very curious and appear to have an affinity with humans. Science has claimed that their sonar can see a placenta in a pregnant woman, so that could be a link.

We see Dolphins swimming just beyond the break, haven't had them in the wave with me but I did have a shark underneath my board down in Baja near Punta China.

LOL Prologos the GB are busy keeping control. They would never understand.

Hey Designs yeah I've seen my share of big sharks and been hunted up too! Actually I shared a house in my teens with a guy who had been attacked by a white pointer. It bit through his board but only knocked one of his teeth out as he had his head turned, lucky. He continued to surf and freed dive spearing fish on his own...Crazy

I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA, one block off Beach Blvd. My dad rented our garage to a Surf Board designer and maker. They later became the Ocean Pacific clothing brand. My brother was a surf bum and traveled up and down the coast and into Baja to surf. I am more of a body surfer but still, "catch a wave and you'r sitting on top of the world" is my story. If I am near a beach I am IN the water.

I will be flying my Surf Flag high on International Surf Day.

Yes, Endless Summer is still one of my favortie movies. My family gave me a copy of it as a gift and we watch it over and over. The newer verison is pretty cool too.
