But animals are NOT just our food source.

I don't think anyone is saying that.

They are equal to us, even if we don't treat them as such.

Ah, well, that's an interesting debate topic, one I am not going to wade into. At the very least, they have the same morals :)

Don't get me wrong, my burger was beef, but the reality is... A bullocks muscle and fat is no different to ours really.

Bollocks! (I just wanted to say that)

I am well aware the physiologically we're pretty much the same. A ribeye still tastes delicious though. I marinated it in chimichurri (homemade) before grilling it, then added more chimichurri.

Snare - I wonder if that is why chimp's in the wild are so savage. ? Thank you for that, more to think about.

Chickens will readily cannablise also., they are drawn to automaticaly peck at red.

Does anyone else think the title of this thread would make for a great, '80s style Watchtower brochure or tract? Or is it just me?

They grow old and die for the same reasons that it happens to us. So

if you believe in thermodynamics, entropy, it is natural. perhaps even welcome. but:

if you believe in the talking snake story, for you it is because the animals never ate from the tree of life,

of course NEITHER DID WE and that is why WE DIE. pas bete eh?

nothing but the laws of thermodynamics.

    Ouch.....

its a bit hard to communicate that you were cutting up a body, whilst someone asked you "where is the meat layer?" Without explaining it was in med school during dissection. Go on, have a go....

I am no,smarter, no more special, no more anything than anyone here or anywhere else. That wasn't a very nice thing to say.

You are a gun owner hey......... good, good..... That makes me feel safer about the world.

    Q. Why do animals grow old and die?

    A. So that they aren't moving when we eat them.

The real answer to the question is genetic diversity. Our planet is ruled by genes. Genes want to spread, they also want to be as diverse as possible. The more diverse they are the better chance they can spread.

If living things didnt die, then genes would not have as much variation and opportunity for diversification, spread, mutation and evolution.

the shorter the lifespan of an animal, the greater its genetic evolution and the better it can adapt to its environment.

bacteria rule the world, for this very reason.
