"I asked them where the meat layer was!" Is the very sentence she said - Snare&Racket
Priceless! Please tell me she isn't going to be a surgeon.
The suggestion that the purpose of animals is to provide food does reveal a misconception that still runs deep.
Its the old "great chain of being" that sees humans (white males) as the pinnacle of life. The realisation that Homo spaiens are just one more twig on the bush of life doesn't appeal to a lot of people.

That's not a misconception. My Grandad raised hogs on his farm . they weren't pets
they were a food source
Trust, My grandma made the best ham biscuits ever
Wasblind - Nobody is denying that animals are eaten by humans.
Animals lived and died for millions of years before your grandad started raising hogs on the farm.
Well Cofty, I'am glad it didn't take that long to figure out what would make a good meal
They die for the same reasons we do.
Check out Darwin. He had some thoughts on the matter.
its a bit hard to communicate that you were cutting up a body, whilst someone asked you "where is the meat layer?" Without explaining it was in med school during dissection. Go on, have a go....

True. But imagine if you had only mentioned you were cutting up a human body with some friends and just left it at that? That would've been hilarious.
This scripture in the bible seems to say that physical is corruption, that only spirit is immortal.
Really concentrate on 1 cor 15:42-54.
I'll list some keywords and phrases....... the resurrection of the dead....sown in corruption, raised in incorruption.....sown a physical body, raised a spiritual body.....if there is a physical body there is ALSO a spiritual one.....the first man adam became a living soul, the last Adam a life giving spirit.......the first is physical, afterward that which is spiritual.......the first man is out of the earth and made of dust, the second man is out of heaven....just as we have born the image of the one made of dust, we SHALL bear ALSO the image of the heavenly one. HOWEVER, flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom, NEITHER does corruption inherit incorruption. The trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised up incorruptible. This which is corruption must put on incorruption, and this which is mortal must put on immortality.
So if dust and physical bodies equals corruption and being mortal, and the only way to be immortal is by having a heavenly body, incorruptible, how is it to have a physical eternal life?
