But the AP/CNN/Reuters still have him alive.
To answer your question, that many years in prison teaches a man many things. But it is what he teaches us that I find impressive with his strong integrity and (as you mentioned) forgiveness. I don't know who the next Mandela will be. But I'm sure when he arrives, there will be a lot more for us to learn.

Tata (affectionaly he is known as Dad) Mandela is still alive. He is in critical condition. This year he has been in an out of hospital with lung infections. His health has been downhill for a while now.
There was recent footage of him (Zuma went to visit) and he didn't look good at all. I don't think he appreciated the visit of the idiot!
Here in SA people are very worried about what will happen when Mandela dies. He had such a forgiving nature, he served his people and country well. Those that have come after him have taken his vision and flushed it down the loo.
He is old, he is sick. I do not think he will last too much longer.

The Telegraph UK reported today Nelson Mandela the Nobel Peace Prize winner has been placed on life support.
But idiots who can't see the forest through the trees just call him a communist despite the good stuff he has done.
The news media can hardly wait for him to kick the bucket, last week a friend of mine who's a camera man for NBC was in South Africa for more than a week, when most of his assignmemts, whether it's was the tornado in Oklahoma or the massacres Newtown CT and Boston last about 3 to 4 days, Ann Curry was even there as the journalist, for that reason alone since there's such a death watch on him, I hope he lingers as long as he can.
