Well, now that it's went to the jury I think I'm going to leave work early and go home and load up the AR and wait for the shit to hit the fan while drinking coffee.
If you were on the Zimmerman jury, how would you vote? 2nd degree murder, manslaughter or innocent?

@designs - tootired says- 'these fools want to riot', 3 people with signs, peacefully I might add.
Good let's hope it stays that way even if he is aquitted when the actual verdict is delivered; that is the real test. I lived through the L.A. riots, it happened then, and it can happen again.
Also that's not what I said, stop taking things out of context (how very WT$ of you). I said: " If these fools want to riot because they don't like the verdict I hope the good citizens and police of Florida stand their ground, and vigorously defend themselves from this tryanny." I don't hope there is a riot, I would like to see justice done in spite of pressure from radical elements of our society and the liberal news media who convicted him on day 1.

Exactly what bush did Martin jump out of
-------
Zimmerman did not say that he knew exactly where Martin was when he appeared to jump out at him.
He made it pretty clear that it was so dark he couldn't see down that pathway and as I recall, he said he jumped out maybe from the bushes or from the side of the house or somewhere - it was too dark for him to say for certain. He gave an answer to the question asked by law enforcement and appears to have given it as honestly as he could. Every unit has some bushes along side the house and an air conditioning unit. Some had patios or enclosed patios. Few had any lights at all on back there. Anyone could have been standing right next to a post in that darkness and they wouldn't be seen. The cops couldn't see the body in the dark - that's a pretty clear indicator that if the same body was standing up next to a house or porch in the dark, he wouldn't have been seen then either. sw

This whole story is terribly unfortunate.
Two young men with way, way too much testosterone running through their bodies and way too little common sense. I do not beleive GZ should be another victim of America's incarceration system for the next 30 years, however I do not feel he should be able to walk free either.
I am so glad I am not one of the jurors - they have a very tough job ahead of them.

I dedicate this song to George Zimmerman. George, why couldn't you just have driven to your house and called the police with your suspicions? I hope you understand the gravity of carrying a gun and making bad decisions in your Neighborhood Watch. You didn't make your neighborhood a safe place for Travan. Very, profoundly sad. Now, instead of just a rash of burglaries, you have added vigilantism and a shooting death to the crime statistics. Had you stayed far away from Travan and let the police handle this situation, hopefully no one would have gotten hurt, including you.
If I was on that jury, he would be convicted on some level. No way would I vote for him to walk free, thinking it is okay to follow someone with a gun just because he or she looks suspicious, and possibly to kill another person.
Tell me why does that vigilante man...
Tell me why does that vigilante man...Carry that sawed off shotgun in his hand?
Would he shoot his brother and sister down?

I’ve been hearin’ his name all over this land
Lonely nights down in the engine house
Sleepin’ just as still as a mouse
Man comes home, chase the crowds in the rain
That’s a vigilante man
Vigilante man

Well I ramble around from town to town
Ramble ‘round from town to town
And they hunted us a while like a wild herd of cattle
That’s a vigilante man
Tell me why does that vigilante man

Carry that sawed off shotgun in his hand
Would he shoot his brother and sister down

To win a second-degree murder conviction, prosecutors must prove Zimmerman showed ill will, hatred or spite — a burden the defense has argued the state failed to meet. To get a manslaughter conviction, prosecutors must show only that Zimmerman killed without lawful justification.
Manslaughter conviction will keep retaliatory actions from happening... save the jury's butts"The unjustifiable, inexcusable, and intentional killing of a human being without deliberation, premeditation, and malice. The unlawful killing of a human being without any deliberation, which may be involuntary, in the commission of a lawful act without due caution and circumspection"

Since a parent not watching a child, who gets fatally hurt, can be charged for manslaughter, then GZ could also be accused with manslaughter by getting out of the car when he knew his gun could be needed if he were confronted.
But in both examples, I personally feel they should be aquitted.
So we will see..
