Given the material jeans has a working mans tradition and was original used to makesails or whatever and paul supposedly made tents, it seems a bit arrogant to ban such a material.

Yea, but it is French, Serge de Nime.

The GB will ban French Fries next, that'll test the loyalty of the obese Dubs, LOL

Denim is made from cotton- a "loving provision" from Jehovah.

Is the GB declaring god's provision a "valueless thing"?

...Knorr had a thing against anything denim

Since my mother worshipped the watchtower presidents more than Jesus, I can now understand why in my 12 years of school (70-83) I was not allowed to wear blue jeans. I should have guessed....

Good thing I had all those Laura Ingall's dresses (as if we weren't weird enough)

The GB didn't ban denim, just blue jeans:

We request that no blue jeans be worn for the duration of your trip. You are expected to comply ...

According to a strict application of this directive one could wear any other color of denim jeans and be in compliance:

    White jeans

    Red jeans

    Camo jeans

    Just not BLUE jeans!

    1 Timmy 4:2

Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

No jeans colored blue! will be allowed.

Interestingly the Heaven Gate Uniforms for space flight:

The thirty-eight members of the Heaven’s Gate cult, plus group leader Applewhite, were found dead in their home on March 26, 1997. The suicide was accomplished by ingestion of cyanide and arsenic mixed with applesauce or pudding, washed down with vodka. Plastic bags were secured around their heads after ingesting the mix. Authorities found the dead lying neatly in their own bunk beds, faces and torsos covered by a square, purple cloth. Each member carried a five dollar bill and three quarters in their pockets. All 39 were dressed in identical black shirts and sweat pants, brand new black-and-white Nike Windrunner athletic shoes, and armband patches reading “Heaven’s Gate Away Team.”

    Scripturally "denim" means "blue jeans".

I'm sure "new light" will be presented soon to clarify this point. It will look something like this:

1 Peter 3:3: " And do not let your adornment be that of the external braiding of the hair and the putting on of gold ornaments or the wearing of [blue jeans]"*. -New World Translation

    * the Greek word rendered "blue jeans" has the broader meaning of all pants material composed of denim, regardless of color. While Paul did not specifically highlight material in this verse, the context obviously allows for this conclusion. Paul was well aware that among Christian-era pagans, blue jeans [ Gr. "loathesomus denimem panticus"] were widely viewed as of Satanic origin, as "demon" and "denim" are closely related in sound. The Apostle clearly had this in mind when admonishing Christians that they should avoid this demonistic clothing material, as wearing it would bring dishonor to the first century governing body in Jerusalem.
