    Thanks FadeTo Black!

    I found this:

Proclaimers of God's Kingdom 1993 Pg. 633: "Following 1925, meeting attendance dropped dramatically in some congregations... Again, in 1975, there was disappointment when expectations regarding the start of the Millennium failed to materialize. Again, some withdrew from the organization."

In the Watchtower (2011-07-15) it says "This organization has NEVER disappointed us and ALWAYS gives us an abundance of pure water of truth from God´s Word". Is this new light correct?

Mr Fool: Luckily the Watchtower has now (2012 Aug 15) changed its mind and want us to learn "all we can about the history of Jehovah´s organization"

This is another classic case of there's what's in print and then there is the way things really work.

Try pointing out something you've learned in older literature about JW history, changed doctrines, etc. This will elicit one of two responses from the active JW:

    1. The information will be summarily dismissed as "old light" and relegated to the "it doesn't matter' category,

    2. More likely response: "what are you doing reading older literature and researching WT history? Are you faultfinding? Are you being critical of the GB? Your motives can't be honorable. What are you up to?". (these are actual responses I've gotten).

In reality what your posted quote REALLY means is: "go ahead and read the older publications and learn a little about WT history. But if you find anything disturbing (and you will) or your research raises troubling questions (it will), just suppress those thoughts and pretend you didn't see it. Oh, and don't talk about it with any other JWs".

Mr.Fool- that's an awesome comparison of quotes.

However, what it REALLY means is, if you've ever been disappointed by the Organization it's your own fault! So, in WTs view, no matter what happened YOU are still to blame, even if you were putting faith in what the WT was teaching, so technically the organization has never disappointed anyone:

In its issue of July 15, 1976, The Watchtower, commenting on the inadvisability of setting our sights on a certain date [1975], stated:

"If anyone has been disappointed through not following this line of thought, he should now concentrate on adjusting his viewpoint, seeing that it was not the word of God that failed or deceived him and brought disappointment, but that his own understanding was based on wrong premises."

Fade to Black- I hope 2007 isn't too far back for you to not consider this as legitimate reference material

Does "the faithful and discreet slave" endorse independent groups of Witnesses who meet together to engage in Scriptural research or debate?-Matt. 24:45, 47.

No, it does not. And yet, in various parts of the world, a few associates of our organization have formed groups to do independent research on Bible-related subjects. Some have pursued an independent group study of Biblical Hebrew and Greek so as to analyze the accuracy of the New World Translation. Others explore scientific subjects related to the Bible. They have created Web sites and chat rooms for the purpose of exchanging and debating their views. They have also held conferences and produced publications to present their findings and to supplement what is provided at our Christian meetings and through our literature.

Throughout the earth, Jehovah's people are receiving ample spiritual instruction and encouragement at congregation meetings, assemblies, and conventions, as well as through the publications of Jehovah's organization. Under the guidance of his holy spirit and on the basis of his Word of truth, Jehovah provides what is needed so that all of God's people may be "fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought" and remain "stabilized in the faith." (1 Cor. 1:10; Col. 2:6, 7) Surely we are grateful for Jehovah's spiritual provisions in these last days. Thus, "the faithful and discreet slave" does not endorse any literature, meetings, or Web sites that are not produced or organized under its oversight.-Matt. 24:45-47.

For those who wish to do extra Bible study and research, we recommend that they explore Insight on the Scriptures, "All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial," and our other publications, such as those that discuss the prophecies found in the Bible books of Daniel, Isaiah, and Revelation. These provide abundant material for Bible study and meditation, whereby we can be "filled with the accurate knowledge of [God's] will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension, in order to walk worthily of Jehovah to the end of fully pleasing him as [we] go on bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the accurate knowledge of God."-Col. 1:9, 10.

MR Fool great find and the quote about learning about Gods kingdom, God kingdom will be more real to you. WoW nothing about knowing Jesus or that God draws one to Jesus not himself or a Kingdom. In Galations Paul says that if any one spread another Gospel other then the one they talked about a Curse be on you. I wish God would hurry up with that curse on the JW leaders.

Despite God inspired writers, despite no man´s opinion is expressed in the Watchtower publications, there are many mistakes. I didn´t knew that God makes mistakes

    AndDontCallMeShirley nailed it.

If you really study WT history and start showing other JWs what you have found, you will soon be in front of a judicial committee for apostate thinking and sowing discord among brothers.
