    Open minded quotes

"Besides my beliefs, ideas and opinions, I´m very open minded!"

"Any belief, any conviction, any opinion will close an opened mind.
If you believe that is not true, your belief has done its job well."

"An opened mind is truly enigmatic. It is not attached to opinions,
thought or beliefs. It´s free and unchangeable. It IS, just like Truth."

"If you think you have an opened mind, you have already closed it.
If you think you are humble, you have signs of pride."

"The one with a strong belief will always find a way to convincing himself in the end that he is right."

"The most effective way to close an opened mind is to fill it with any kind of ideas, convictions and thoughts."

"An opened mind is totally ignorant but liberated from convictions and pride"

"An opened mind feeds on humility, a closed mind feeds on convictions"

"Don't be so open-minded that your brain falls out" is a good caution when researching anything, but the JW's "research" is a total joke.

If JW's wanted to encourage a member of the LDS church to research the history and past statements and teachings of the LDS (Mormon) church for example, would they tell the Mormon to only go to the official LDS site, and the latest LDS literature ?

They would be naive to do so, the LDS church has covered over much of its history, and even revised the Book of Mormon itself.

And yet when it comes to examining their own JW/WT church/organization and its past, they are forbidden to do proper research, hypocrites.

It is in fact, in view of the above, an act of gross hypocrisy to knock on people's doors and ask them to examine their religion, the JW's are not allowed to examine their own !

"If you really study WT history and start showing other JWs what you have found, you will soon be in front of a judicial committee for apostate thinking and sowing discord among brothers. "

YEP!! That happened to me. What were my crimes?

    1) Saying that going beyond what is written is wrong ( telling the Brother's and Sisters how much service time they MUST have to be exemplary )

    2) Saying that past and current issues of the Watchtower Magazine contain errors.

    3) Saying that my loyalty to men in purely conditional upon their loyalty to Christ Jesus.

    THAT, my friends is APOSTASY.

Mr Fool, those clippings dovetail nicely with this:

    WT 09/15/2010

" Similarly today, a Governing Body composed of spirit-anointed Christians contributes to the unity of the worldwide congregation. The Governing Body publishes spiritually encouraging literature in many languages. This spiritual food is based on God's Word. Thus, what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah.-Isa. 54:13."

"It is vital that we appreciate this fact and respond to the directions of the "slave" as we would to the voice of God, because it is His provision." Watchtower 1957 Jun 15 p.370

Therefore the slave’s will is Jehovah’s will. Rebellion against the slave is rebellion against God (W 6/1/56, p 346.ar. 11)

So, why be "open-minded" and do any research if the "slave" speaks god's words? All a JW has to do is follow orders and do no thinking at all (which is, in reality, how things actually do work in WT Land).

    "I don't mind having questions that I can't answer, but I don't like having answers that I can't question."

"voice of God", I shall remeber to ask that about what is written in the Watchtower

"The jw´s are not allowed to examine their own(religion)" Except that they encourage that we "shall learn everything we can about Jthe history of Jehovah´s organization" (scan in the first page in this thread). I guess that artikel was one of their biggest mistakes the last 10 years, because now they can not escape from it. It´s new light!
