Because homosexuality is a deviation from man's original design.

    MP:

Says who ? Show us the scirpture.

    Perry:

Dispite the current homosexual band wagon, Jesus did, in fact, speak against homosexuality.

    MP:

Show me the scripture where Jesus says so and it includes homosexual.

    Perry:

On numerous occasions, Jesus condemned the sins of adultery (Matthew 19:18), sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9) and fornication (Matthew 15:19).

    MP:

Homosexuality was not illegal in the Roman Empire. No where does jesus connect sexual immorality and homosexuality.

Jesus also said to follow the laws of Moses in Mat 5:17, are you ???

    Perry:

These terms describe any type of sexual intercourse that is not within the confines of a marriage as ordained by God. Jesus then proceeded to define exactly what God views as a morally permissible marriage. He stated:

    mP:

Well many heroes in the Bible screw outside of marriage, including Ruth who gets a special mention.

It was necessary for God to spell out to the Jews, to make

them a special people for his name, set them apart from

all others, "Do not kill". Shouldn't they had known it's wrong

to kill. Slaves or no slaves you just don't go around killing people.

Maybe that's why they didn't have a problem killing others

on their way to the promise land.

    mP:

The ten commandments, dont say what your implying. It says dont kill other jews. Thats a fact because a few pages later it says to kill Amalekits, and countless other neighbouring tribes.

It also does not say kill it says murder which is totally different.

Question for whoever like to try. Jesus, how he felt about gays.

Matt:19;12 He mention three types of eunuchs, who are the

ones that come from his mother's womb? It's rarity for males

    even in Jesus day.

    mP:

How does rarity define anything ? People with red hair are rarer perhaps than gays, does that mean we can kill them according tot he Bible ? Eunuch are not gay, they just dont have all the parts necessary to get a woman pregnant.

There is no such thing as a practicing gay christian. That's an oxymoron similar to say a "Christian thief".

    MP:

Strange , for 2000 years Christians have been stealing everybody and anybody at any opportunity. Just ask the natives of Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas. In fact theres no such thing as a xian history of kindess or goodness. In fact its quite the opposite. The vast majority of xians have not been good they have just been ordinary people. There are theifs in all cultures, xioanity is no different.

Well jseus might have been gay, considering he never got married. In fact its pretty safe to say, nearly everyman would have been married by 30, which would make jesus quite a strange figure in any jewish town.

In short, who the hell cares what a fictional tribal deity is said to think what is 'morally permissible'?! A great deal of what is 'morally permissible' in the Bible is despicable.

    For example, Deuteronomy 22:28, 29:

“In case a man finds a girl, a virgin who has not been engaged, and he actually seizes her and lies down with her, and they have been found out, 29?the man who lay down with her must also give the girl’s father fifty silver shekels, and she will become his wife due to the fact that he humiliated her. He will not be allowed to divorce her all his days.

Not doing well with the ladies? Just rape a virgin, then buy her from her father. Mission accomplished - married for life.

And let's not forget the 'satisfying' answer to 'Where did Cain get his wife?' - It's perfectly fine to marry your sister or niece.

Ah... such a 'wonderful' source of morality.

The fact is that Christians happily ignore the moral repugnance of the Bible until it happens to accord with their own bigotry.

Actually the Bible story of Cain is further confusing because it speaks of cities when there was according to xians supposed to be only Adam & Eve and a few kids.

Yes, that is indeed another contradiction in the ridiculous story.

Is it ok to marry your sister according to the BIble ?

The Bible only suggests that marrying one's sister is against the Mosaic law - which Christians can apparently ignore. Abraham was purportedly married to his half-sister.

TTWSYF said " The Bible is timeless and does not change, nor does the Father or Jesus."

What utter nonsense, the Bible is the most chnaged book in History, edited, redacted, bits excised, etc etc

Within the Bible the "Father" , the Almighty God figure, changes and evolves constantly.

"Jesus" too changes depending on who you are reading, "John" the writer of Revelation, Paul and the Gospel writers, all present a different Messiah.

As to the thread title, the Bible out of date ? YES, by thousands of years.
