Their idea of exciting news is that Armageddon is just around the corner and we all ought to obey the faithful and discreet slave...

1914, 1935 ... really doesn't bother me how they teach it.

But if they mess with the horn-blowing in Cedar Point Ohio in 1922, I'm out the door.

    Rub a Dub

For sure because horn #7 would have to be reblown (horn number 2 is already dated)

    1. 1922 Cedar Point, Ohio: A challenge to Christendom's leaders in religion, politics, and big business to justify their failure to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness. Messiah's Kingdom is the panacea.

    2. 1923 Los Angeles, California: The public talk, "All Nations Now Marching to Armageddon, but Millions Now Living Will Never Die," called on peace-loving "sheep" to abandon the death-dealing sea of humanity.

    3. 1924 Columbus, Ohio: Ecclesiastics indicted for self-exaltation and refusal to preach Messiah's Kingdom. True Christians must preach God's vengeance and comfort mourning humanity.

    4. 1925 Indianapolis, Indiana: A message of hope contrasting the spiritual darkness in Christendom with the bright Kingdom promise of peace, prosperity, health, life, liberty, and eternal happiness.

    5. 1926 London, England: A locustlike plaguing of Christendom and its clergy, exposing their rejection of God's Kingdom, and hailing the birth of that heavenly government.

    6. 1927 Toronto, Canada: An invitation, carried as by armies of cavalry, calling on people to forsake `organized Christianity' and give heart allegiance to Jehovah God and to his King and Kingdom.

    7. 1928 Detroit, Michigan: A declaration against Satan and for Jehovah, making plain that God's anointed King, enthroned in 1914, will destroy Satan's evil organization and emancipate mankind.

I used to think the horn blasts were the craziest example of modern-day WT application of the Bible, but then I read cha-ching's post about the train stations in The Finished Mystery here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/260954/1/Questions-from-Readers-In-light-of-the-new-understanding-of-the-Faithful-and-Discreet-Slave-is-it-appropriate-to-refer-to-C-T-Russell-as-Brother-Russell

Good idea for a thread Searcher.

Data Dog.... I love your musings. You have a lot of good solutions for the GB/FDS and their holes in doctrine. The only trouble with everyone partaking and 144000 being symbolic, and new closer relationship with Jesus is .......................................... The GB are all too old and dumb to implement your terrific idea's. If nothing is announced by nxt year why not drop them a line and see if they take up your solutions.

Wouldn't it be funny if the whole ex-jw community went to the memorial 2014, and partook of the emblems if data-dogs predictions don't come true. I am sure there must be 144000 of us worldwide....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????

It was fun reading everyones comments and remember LOABB!!

That sounds plausible DD, except for how they hammered down at the last Memorial about WHO should partake and WHO SHOULD NOT. Usually before a big change like the FDS doctrine, they ease into it. For years they have been downplaying partakers as a whole and emphasizing the GB. So when they say only the GB is the FDS, most lap it up.

If they were to let all partake, it would be very sudden, especially after how the last memorial talks main theme was WHY YOU SCUM SHOULD NOT PARTAKE.

However, this would actually be a smart move for them I think. EVentually they will have to change something if the partakers keep going up, the most likely of which I think is, to stop taking count of who partakes and who does not. They have already stated that "we dont need to know" so the next logical step would be to not count them at all IMO.

They could always play the " Nathan the prophet " card.

GB: Well, we had an idea about who should patake, a false expectation as we are just imperfect men. Our eagerness to sound a warning caused us to err on the side of caution. Still, we did not cease to be watchful, or preach the good news! Surely in this time of the end, Jehovah's chariot is on the move! Instead of being negative, all should desire to be molded by the great potter, Jehovah. Now is not time to dwell on past expectations. Now is the time to let Jehovah's progressive organization continue to re-adjust our thinking in all matters. Undoubtedly, all those faithfully following the Lamb, will be blessed by obeying the earthy channel of Jehovah's loving organization! Staying in the valley of protection will ensure that all witnesses of Jehovah have the prospect of gaing everlasting life! Now, shut the H*** up and partake!!

Its true they really can justify any change, and cite scripture to go along with it no matter what it is quite easily.

Apologies for a mistake which I made earlier - the Bethelite in charge of Public Information at London Branch is PAUL Gillies, not Jim as I erroneously named him. Confused him with another individual.

I spoke to him on the 'phone (anonymously - I wouldn't tell him I was a Witness!!) a while back, when I called to ask how attending OSCE get-togethers could be justified by the Witnesses.

The man wriggled and squirmed like a politician, using double-speak to avoid saying 'Yes' to my questions.

I recorded it for future reference for fellow Witnesses - in case they disbelieve the involvement.

Interesting to see his career success - http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/218141/1/The-rise-and-rise-of-Paul-Gillies

The biggest flopper in the Watchtower's new doctrine is revealed in the two separate charts. The blunder is easily pointed out to fellow dubs and a simple comment this Sunday could throw the entire congregation into a tizzy.

If you examine the chart from the first study (last week) on page 4,5 you will see that just prior to Armageddon there is a caption... "Jesus will appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings."

Moving to this coming Sunday's study, examination of the chart on page 10,11 shows that just prior to Armageddon the caption reads "SHINING BRIGHTLY ;Shortly before Armageddon, the remaining faithful annointed ones are gathered to the heavens.

So, the "slave" is appointed just prior to going to heaven. First, how is it that the "slave" is going to heaven? Will he ascend on a cloud in a 'rapture'.

On how the "slave" gets to heaven we don't have to go far. The Theocratic school for WEEK STARTING JULY 15

    No. 2: (talk by sister)

Will Christ Appear Visibly on a Cloud and Then Take Away Faithful Christians Into the Heavens While the World Looks On?

    — rs p. 313 1-3 (5 min.) *** rs p. 313-p. 315 Rapture ***

Will Christ appear visibly on a cloud and then take away faithful Christians into the heavens while the world looks on?

1 Cor. 15:50, RS: “I tell you this, brethren: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.”

Will faithful Christians perhaps be taken to heaven secretly, simply disappearing from the earth without dying?

Rom. 6:3-5, RS: “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? . . . For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” (What occurred in the case of Jesus set the pattern. His disciples as well as others knew he had died. He was not restored to heavenly life until after his death and resurrection.)

1 Cor. 15:35, 36, 44, RS: “Some one will ask, ‘How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?’ You foolish man! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. It is sown a physical body, it is raised a spiritual body.” (So death comes before one receives that spiritual body, does it not?)

Verse 15 explains that they are faithful ones “who are left until the coming of the Lord,” that is, they are still living at the time of Christ’s coming. Will they ever die? According to Romans 6:3-5 and 1 Corinthians 15:35, 36, 44 (quoted on pages 314, 315), they must die before they can gain heavenly life. But there is no need for them to remain in the death state awaiting Christ’s return. They will instantly be “caught up,” “in the twinkling of an eye,” to be with the Lord.—1 Cor. 15:51, 52, RS; also Revelation 14:13.

Comment for Sunday: "This is very exciting here to see that the "slave" is appointed over all Christ's belongings and then dies."

It's interesting to note what page's 15,16 of the Organization book says. That's chapter 3, the holy grail of Watchtowerdom. It say's "That slave would be entrusted with oversight of Kingdom interests on Earth..." "What, then, are the "belongings"? These are the spiritual assets on earth... Included are facilities... also embrace the commision to preach..."

So, why the hell would Jesus appoint them over everything on earth just before they drop dead?
