Every time I talk to my mom, she sounds like she is sick or dead tired, she acts so sad...

  Your father has been a very strong and faithful elder for decades, i served with him for a while and he's behaving in such a way with you ( asking you about the weather) he really does not have much to talk about or have much in common with you anymore because you have become inactive and without faith in the watchtower : " MOTHER ORGANIZATION", he cannot talk to you about meetings, latest "new light", convention and so on because you are living in a complete different world than he is. There is not much in common anymore and the sooner you accept that the sooner you'll be able to move on with your life and live a happy life with your wife and daughter.

  I have been thru it many years ago, had family and friends by the hundreds in many different states and none of those "brothers, friends and relatives" talk to me anymore.

  The only hope if your father starts doing some thinking himself about the organization and come to conclusion that the watchtower is not the " truth" but just another religion with its interpretation of the bible .....but don't hold your breath on that. It took me 32 years to realize that and the same amount time yourself to see what the watchtower is all about.

  Hang in there and do best best to cope with it.

  I think older JW are deep down discouraged and depressed because the promised paradise has not come as promised and expected. However they have so much invested they can't face the TATT leading to deeper depression cycle. It's really sad to watch and not be able to do anything about it.

  Thanks for the good advice all. I think I knew this would happen deep down, but just hoped maybe not. Time to move on mentally.

  SuperLouisLane, Clarity, and Comatoast thanks for your concern and caring comments. Work has been slow around this area for what I do and I traveled to another state to work on a hydro-electric dam.

  On a recent "worldly holiday" we had 4 days off+ so I traveled home to be with my immediate family. I was within 45 minutes of home (I just passed Barbara A's home) riding my sport motorcycle when a truck and I got tangled up at 10 a.m. in the morning on the highway. I don't remember anything.

  Results: Six broken ribs, plus a broken sternum, perforated lungs, ruptured spleen, hit my head so hard I broke one ear drum..plus a very good concussion, still feeling it. Internal bleeding was a concern but fortuneately it finally stopped. Minimal road rash, alittle on the elbows and knees, mostly internal injuries. (I have always dressed in quality protective clothing, full helmet, touring jacket.) Later blood clots in the legs, bad and painful.

  It has been a slow process but I'm getting my strength back. The only witness said I bounced down the road hit the guard rail and bounced back into the lane. UUUUGGGH. Oh, BTW, she also said, "you have the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen". That is a true quote. She held me still until emergency medics could get there.

  So that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. It's been over three months and I'm not 100% but I'm finally going back to work tomorrow. Yea!!!!!

  Comatose... Kids expect their parents to love them, protect them, be there for them, and care about them... no matter what.

  A Family is a built in personal cheering section. Always ready with open arms, love and support, unconditionally.

  When that doesn't happen, when there is a disconnect, it is heart breaking.

  There are many of us on this Board, that know what you are feeling.
