I think if you're loaded, it came from family, you earned it, or conned someone.

Nothing to do with God! I pray to God for money, and I ask my dad for it. Who answered me when I get it?

So if I win the lottery.....

For the record, I am not saying that I agree with the statements above. I am asking for an active JW to show me from God's word why Jehovah would care about chicken reproduction in Myanmar, but not about little Timmy getting molested in the valley of protection?!

Hey DD! A super elder know it all in my congo said, 'that they were blessed because of putting the kingdom first and worrying about feeding his family second.' Everyone just shook their heads up and down with amazement

So I guess that providjng for my family is not that important...

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:18

There is simply no scripture support for this premise

Monsieur I'm a bit lost I admit on what you believe. But, if I understand it, and I've read it several times trying to get it, then you think god as described in the bible is silly. But you also believe the bible when it says god is love... But, what I'd love to get just a straight yes or no answer on is this - does god/love bless people with wealth?

comatose: you think god as described in the bible is silly. But you also believe the bible when it says god is love

    ----

Haven't we seen this same argument used here by others?

They declare the Bible is absolutely trustworthy and god is all-good and deserves to be worshipped.

Then when they encounter those parts of the Bible that make them horribly uncomfortable and do not fit their previous declarations, usually because they offend normal human logic and decency, suddenly not ALL of the Bible is reliable and the God of the Bible is being misrepresented (usually under the guise of mistranslations; scribal error; outright fraud, etc.).

It's hard to believe people who really don't even believe themselves.

There is nothing wrong with being wealthy at all. Does the Bible teach that material prosperity is a sign of God's favor? I ask because this is often an argument used by JWs to prove that the WTBTS is THE CHANNEL. Organizational growth is cited as proof of divine backing, even though the ORG is downsizing.

Still waiting... Ethos? SFTW? Recovery?! Anyone??

    comatose,

well i appreciate you trying to understand what i am saying.

Well, let’s see where or in what circumstance would love REALISTICALLY make you wealthy.

I can see a loving father who unselfishly leaves (upon his death) a substantial life insurance benefit to his son or daughter, or perhaps leaving him a business, land, or jewelry through a will.

The thoughtful and careful father’s actions motivated by love have now made that son or daughter wealthy.
