Cedars, in your article, you state, "it was fairly obvious that he was appealing to a sexist stereotype of women being overly concerned about how an item looks rather than what it does."
However, it's more likely that the intended meaning is that sisters - the 'large army of women' - purportedly do the most preaching, with the implication that they use their Bibles more, and that 'sisterproofing' them is supposed to relate to durability.
I really think they were talking about the durability of the NNWT. I think Jeffro is correct.

Please don't think I am nit-picking grammar, it is not my intent at all. I love your articles and your site. But here is a tiny mistake, I believe :)
In your article you state: " Pierce raised expectations at the start of the meeting by indicating that their would “absolutely” be “new light,” or “new bible truths” revealed. In the end there was nothing of the sort." (4th paragraph). I think the bold word should be "there" not "their".
