How do JWs explain Egyptian society and culture surviving the flood?

  Ok this is something have been wondering. Has anyone heard any explanation from JWs as to how Egypt, which even the WT admits existed 4600 years ago, was eliminated by a global flood but resumed a few short years later with the same culture, language etc. The pyramids are older than the WT date for the flood.

  I know that there are other gaping holes in the story too like how there is no evidence of animals exclusive to Australia such as kangaroos, koalas etc ever living anywhere else, yet they somehow travelled from there to Mesopotamia where Noah allegedly was and then back to Australia again without a trace, and many more nonsensical things.

  One JW elder in my hall has an idea as to how they built the pyramids. He said he thinks that the Nephilim built it since it would require great strength!! When you are dealing with this level of nonsence and idiocy, its no wonder the GB gets away with this scam it is running.

  while Jws worry about the spirituak things like this pertinent question, the WT can go on with the real business at hand.

  The flood was used by the Epytians to float all that heavy masonery into place.

  I don't think JWs admit that pyramids are older than the flood. If you could find that and tell me where it would be my smoking gun to reach a few friends.

  JWs act like flood happened then languages confused, then pyramids and Great Wall of china all instantly built.

  If you read the Insight book under "Egypt," you can find where they establish their belief in line with 6000+ years of humans:

  Abraham’s visit. Sometime after the Flood (2370-2369 B.C.E.) and the subsequent split-up of the peoples at Babel, Hamites occupied Egypt. By the time (sometime between 1943 B.C.E. and 1932 B.C.E.) that famine forced Abraham (Abram) to leave Canaan and go down to Egypt, a kingdom was functioning under a Pharaoh (unnamed in the Bible).—Ge 12:4, 14, 15; 16:16.

  Notice the dates they pick for the flood from above and from "Deluge" in the Insight book:

  DELUGE
  The catastrophic destruction of men and animals by an overwhelming flood in the days of Noah, 2370 B.C.E.

  So WTS pretends that there was no Egypt in 2370 BCE and that it was established and starting to thrive by 1943 BCE.

  So they do not allow for an Egyptian existance 4600 years ago, rather it is just under 4000 years. They squeeze it in. If you see anything in WT mags that seems to agree with "4600 years," it is probably a quote or an indirect quote saying that someone else believes it, and they silently print that without comment to appear to agree while they do not in fact.

  Comatose, I cant copy and paste but it is in the 1986 Awake 1/22 issue in Watching the World under the heading "Ancient Air" There they admit the pyramid of Giza has been there 4600 years.

  Actually, the Egyptian pyramids seen on the next page date from before the time when the family of Joseph’s father Jacob (or, Israel) moved to Egypt. But more common than building with huge stones was the use of bricks, produced by the millions under the same blazing sun.

  That's great BU2B. Thanks for the heads up. Their watching the world section has lots of minor goofs. For example it's a watching the world that admits Neanderthalas existed and they made tools and jewelry and buried the dead.

  OTWO that's great info! So in 130 years the pyramids and an entire world empire appeared. Meanwhile at the same time the Aztecs and Chinese were building similar projects.

  I've always thought it shallow thinking to assume the diversity of human society could be spontaneously generated

  at the confusing of languages at Babel. The striking differences in Art, rituals, folklore, pottery, rudimentary math and customs and clothing cannot

  automatically spring from a difference in language.

  It is wrong-headed and ignorant.

  When I've asked questions directly I immediately met with deflection.

  It cannot be discussed because a JW will refuse to even acknowledge it.

  And don't forget that we have to squeeze in the incident of the tower of Babel and the confusing of all the language groups. I am sure any seriously believing JW's think that scattering people tended to speed up the Egyptians or the Chinese to make their own civilization.
