How do JWs explain Egyptian society and culture surviving the flood?

OTWO - about 130 years you are right on the math. I think I said that because in my head I was remembering Babel. From the time of the flood to Babel was about 110-130 years according to genealogies in the Insight book.

So that means that in just 130ish years, 8 people became enough to build a massive tower to the heavens. A tower so scary that god wondered what they could accomplish and confused their languages. Never mind that the bible says it took hundreds of thousands of workers to build just the temple in Solomon's time. The Insight book does some crazy math and points out that there could have been 4,000 people alive if everyone started having kids young and continued until eighty years old. Even if that's possible to have kids until old age, 4,000 people stayed all together and didn't spread and built cities and a tower to heaven?

Somebody mentioned ziggurats on mountains and Aztecs. The earliest Mesoamerican ziggurats were built at around 1000 BC and the Aztec empire existed between the 14th and 16th centuries AD although, as a people, they had been around for a lot longer.

As far as I can see, the earliest Chinese pyramid was 6th century BC.

Gobekli Tepe was a stone age civilization that existed between 11,000 to 12,000 years ago. This is thousands of years before the flood myth as well as the WT dating of the garden of Eden account.

This blows WT chronology and the literal account of Adam & Eve to pieces.

If the governing body who claim to have a direct line to the god who created humans can't even get the first book of the bible correct, why should anyone beleive anything they put forward as fact?

Precisely. That's exactly why I often say that if you have to read beyond Genesis in order to figure out that the Bible is merely a reflection of an ancient culture, you're not thinking. Of course, that presupposes that one is familiar with OTHER ancient documents of the period, archaeological findings (eg Finkelstein, Devers, etc), sociology of religions, etc, and THAT does require quite a bit of work and study, since it's not readily obvious to those who haven't looked into it.

The way to cut an intelligent Jehovah's Witness (yes, there are a few) down to size INSTANTLY is to ask them about dinosaurs.

Since they aren't allowed to think about dinosaurs and have not been given an opinion to parrot--they sort of fizzle before your very eyes.

The closest I ever got to hearing any reply at all was, "I'll wait til the New Order to find those things out."

Embracing ignorance in excluding their own ability to do research is the hallmark of a cult member.

Well I obviously cannot add today, and need some education on Mesoamerican Architecture.. I guess I just wonder how the WTBTS can justify their dates. Either the dating on structures like the Gobekli Temple is incorrect, or the WTBTS's dates are off. They could BOTH be off, I suppose. With the WTBTS's exhaustive list of chronological errors, I am more inclined to believe the Archealogy buffs.

Dinosaurs?! That's easy. They lived outside of Eden. The meat-a-sauruses ate the herb-a sauruses, and the herb-a-sauruses ate all the plants. Think of keeping a few goats around to eat the weeds on your farm. Then because people did not kill animals, ( not until Able's first sacrifice, post-eviction) there had to be control measures in place. So you would need a couple of tigers on your farm to keep the goats in check. After the killing ban was lifted, Adam and co. made some bows and arrows and hunted the dinos to near extinction in their area of the world. All the rest migrated to the Savage Land. That's why there was only one dinosaur in the back of the green bible instead of many. Makes sense, right?

    Is that the answer?

All JWs I have ever talked to about this know Dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. They say god was preparing the planet for us, I had one say god was making oil with the dead dino bodies.

Dinos they can understand but flood? NOPE.

When I used to bring these points up to my father he would always say that carbon dating was innacurate or that archeologists were just making assumptions and couldn't possibly know how old a certain object was.
