@theredeemer you are right i did waste some time , but addicted no.

@Sloppyjoe i dont see the need to explain things (like the one you mentioned) to you or any other on this forum, since the answer is already known to all. God does not talk , elders are just human beings who try to do their best to lead a worldwide congregation. They do a great Job with wonderful results. They admit mistakes were made in the past and that certain interpretations of bible prophecy seems to be slighty different. Nothing new under the sun,.. people are not infallible and never were. The point is people who serve with a date in mind or thinking in a few years i go in paradise without dying are doing something wrong. They serve Jehovah with the wrong intentions. So instead of looking and trying to find mistakes in their interpretation one could better look at the good things they accomplish.

I prefer to do that. Thanks to those brothers of the governing body i wake up every morning with a smile and every week i have a few moments that urge me to thank Jehovah for this wonderful brotherhood, organisation and 'spiritual paradise'. I feel lucky , blessed and happy and would recommend it to everyone one.

Now i leave this topic for what it is.

If Emeth was on here and other places and did all this reading about JW's before he became one then hes an absolute idiot. He should of done some bible research as well because theres at least 6 things Jesus told us to do or not to do and the JWs completely ignore him in these areas. Some one on here said it best 'JW's are not christians their Yahwehists.

absolutely not. every jw thinks they are don juan with "the truth". they think that jehooper directed them to a particular site because they had something special enough that no other dronehovahs witness learned from the ivy league ministerial school, because java or yosopheheffe put them here to reach someone that only THEY had the genius reasoning to convince.

I was out of the organization for eight years before I dared visit an "apostate" web site. I think there is a level of mind control that is hard to overcome at first. I knew the religion was not for me, but I thought the Watchtower was just misguided. I was so naive. It was a relief to discover that I was not alone, that others too saw the problems. I realized the Watchtower was using scare tactics to control the members. I have been trying to get the Dubs to stop coming by, I have asked several times to be put on the "do not call list". I've called the Kingdom Hall, even wrote a letter. The last guy that came by, was apologetic, we are so sorry, shouldn't have happened, etc. But because I wasn't crazy or mean he just wouldn't go. I finally said " I am apostate, do you REALLY want to talk to me? He couldn't get away fast enough then. It's cult mind control 101. The Apostates want to take your faith, as if we have some kind of super power that will magically force you out of the religion. Well, we do, in a way, it's called facts, and truth.

Take care Emeth, enjoy your fond relationship with God's unique channel the GB if that's what you need to get a warm little buzz first thing in the morning. I prefer to get that from a good strong coffee.

    Dear Emeth,

If you are happy with the choices you make then I wish you all the happiness you have :) At the end I think the pursuit of happiness is one of the key values in life. For most of us here it is NOT the society of jehovah's witnesses. For some unfortunately it is.

My slip into apostasy was a slow one. I wouldn't of come here in the first place if I hadnt been so unhappy in the religion. As an active witness when I first started reading apostate web sites I thought that I could play on both sides of the fence e.g know the TTATT, and still be a good loyal witness. 18 months later I now realize that this is impossible, and haven't put a foot inside the KH for a few months now. As I am now classed as inactive and still talk with those in the congregation, I can see I have no problem with Jehovah, Jesus, or witnesses as people as such, bit what I do have a problem with is the system with which they adhere to. The restriction of information, and how you just get steam rolled if you do speak out.

i remember when I got the phone call from the library telling me that CoC had arrived for me to pick up, and getting the feeling of guilt as well as of a journey into the unknown. I read the book twice in a couple of days. I also remember looking at the back of the book to all the other issue dates, and thinking what were the reasons for people wanting to issue this book out, and at what journey were they on.

    1. Yes, of course, most Witnesses are afraid of apostate stuff. In fact, they are TOLD to be afraid of it in the official publications.

    2. Why do these WT apologists come to this site and post their defenses when they are told not to by the borg? Surely at least some of them must be harboring doubts...

I do believe some jws think they are "immune" to apostate words. Or they lack any cred in the congregation they want to prevail over the bad guys.
