Since emeth is done with this post I respond to anyone who is reading this. When the generations teaching was changed every witness who stayed began regurgitating this line, "they were only serving for a date." making people who lost faith in the organization seem weak and not having true honest intentions to serve God. What they fail to mention is this was a core teaching used in the preaching work and studied out of the Live forever book (the main book being used to study with interested ones at the time). In other words they were bringing people into the organization using the date idea to begin with. Then of course when it turns out to be wrong JWs blaim people that were serving for a date. They were brought into the organization being told they would never die.
Of course as you can see, once again no one can explain my question. The same tired response of them not being infallible is used. When you can not openly question what someone teaches you without repercussions, that is no different than being infallible. There is still no explanation on how they receive communication from God if you claim to be his channel of communication. If you make that claim and it turns out you were wrong, you are not communicating for God, PERIOD. If you want to wake up with a smile on your face , go ahead.
Lastly I want to talk about the light gets brighter concept. This is what is used when the leaders decide they not God wants to change something. This concept would make more sense if let's say they openly said we do not understand the book of revelation but hope to in the future. But they have already made interpretations , many in fact that were wrong. Where did that light come from? When it's changed such as the generations teachings, where did that new incorrect light come from. The answer is obvious, from eight men who are no more capable of making up interpretations than you or I.
