NSA spying on Vatican! My JW parents are SOO EXCITED!

  It just came out yesterday that the NSA has spied on the Vatican and Pope Francis. When I went over my parents house yesterday, you could see the excitement, the energy in their eyes when they talked about it. My dad even pumped his fist like he won something when he was talking about it. To them this is yet ANOTHER sign that the destruction of "false religion" is oh so close, and how the end must be almost here. Boy it sure is hard to be in stealth mode/fading isnt it? Talk about learning to be an actor and keeping your mouth shut, words few and a poker face!!

  I feel so bad for my parents. They are going on 60, never thought they would be in this system this long. Hell, they never thought I would get to high school, graduate from it, get a job, get married, have kids, etc.. all things that have now happened! My dad is breaking down physically and does hard laborious work as an auto mechanic, and my mom hasnt worked since she was at Brooklyn Bethell in 1986! (if you can even count that). She spends her days in Field Circus as a Reg. Pioneer. They NEED the end to come AND SOON. They dont want to face a future that they never thought would come, and are ill prepared for. Its so sad to see people you love so deluded.

  I bet this news story will really start making the JW email rounds, and get them stirred up for a couple weeks IMO.

  The older JW's are waiting for the attack on the Vatican. The young JW's are waiting for their next IOS update.

  Maybe they will monitor the WT too. Now that might turn up some surprises.

  It took me a while to connect the dots. So, the fact that the NSA spies on many leaders does not create excitement. Only this minor piece about the Vatican.

  It seems they are grasping at straws.

  For those of us that spent decades in the WT this is nothing new....almost anything that we saw in the news about religion, government and economic system was another sign

  that the end is " SO CLOSE ".

  Millions of witnesses gotten old and never saw the the fulfillment of the watchtower promise of a new earth.

  Im sure the NSA does monitor the WTS as they monitor everything. The thing is the WT is so small time, it probably wouldnt make the news

  How many of us here remained trapped for years in this cult due to the false "Peace & Security" and "King of the North" false prophecy claims? Now, from what I see....these prophecies are rarely mentioned anymore.

  @Alphaman the 'Peace and Security' prophecy is mentioned often.

  For example the study watchtower of November 2013 (which will be studied next january 2014) contains an article called How Can We Maintain “a Waiting Attitude”? and it speaks about the prophecy.

  I almost can't believe that at one point, i actually believed that world governments would destroy organized religion. It truly is a pathetic idea. Organized religion is imploding on it's own, no help will be needed, believe me.

  Besides why would governments do this? What a tremendously unpopular idea that would be... political suicide.

  In the United States for example, there would need to be a switch to a dictatorship, abolishment or suspension of the constitution. This move would inevitably lead to a civil war, and nationwide rioting and unrest, in a nation which is the most relgious of all developed nations.

  No government would fight this war, in order to get rid of something which is not a threat in any way, but instead actually helps keep people in line.
