Let me rephrase: If the governments REALLY DO shut DESTROY false religion, then how will JWs explain away Armageddon NOT coming (because it won't) and Jah's failure to rescue "his people," because he won't?

Yes, I admit it. I would be surprised if "Armageddon" comes. That would be the first time the WTBTS ever got anything right.

If these things occur, I will gladly admit I am wrong.

Will you do the same if you are wrong? Oh, that's right. You think "soon" means over 100 years and that fact that the leaders of the IBSA/WTBTS/JW have been proclaiming Armageddon's imminence for well over 100 years has not convinced you of anything.

It there anything that would convince you the GB/FDS/WT are/is wrong? Anything?

See, that's how the real World actually works, for the most part: if you're not even willing to look out for your own best-interests (eg willing to die by refusing life-saving blood), then don't be shocked when others really don't give a rats-pattootie about your existence, either.

The opposite emotion of love or concern is not HATE, but just indifference. It's your time and life to do with as you please, and your right to do so. There's no vast Satanic conspiracy to "oppose you" (just like when something bad happens to me, I don't create boogymen to blame it on), and some of us have spent our lives actually getting things done, rather than using Jehovah/Armageddon as an excuse for being an under-achiever or lazy.

It's very sad/unfortunate to see so many older folks aging with no hope in sight..any little thing that makes mention of the RCC is the 'end'...my dad thought that the Syrian conflict would bring about something....they're all so desperate :-(

Interesting thought, since an eternity is an awful LONG TIME in which to have to toe party-line (UNLESS God takes away free will, and one becomes a mindless robot; but THAT'S not very gaming, is it?).

But one little slip-up, and it's off with your head, and into the deep sleep you go!

Eventually after a few billion YEARS or so, it's gotta get pretty lonely as you watch the weaker members of your loved ones fall away. In fact, that sounds more like the plot to a reality TV show set on a paradise island, i.e. "Survival: the New System Edition".

Only in the mind of a JW would the fact that the NSA spied on the Vatican mean that religion will soon be destroyed, apparently the NSA spies on every one, so I doubt it means much. I guess they are desperate for some sign that there is some truth to all the silly predictions. Sort of sad really

@Oubliette Members of the governing body are just men like me , i make mistakes everyday and they are no exeption. 2000 years ago the first christians had the idea that God's day could come any minute. Since we are still here 2000 years later its obvious that it took a while more and still does. Did that disqualify the apostles and bible writers? Maybe you think so and certain christians in their time did too and walked away from the faith.

But up till this day every christian denomination that base their beliefs on the bible think Armageddon will occur so thats not something unique.

Anyway i am not here on this forum to discuss the governing body or our teachings. To do that you have plenty of other people who like to jump in on this forum.

You DO realize the GB claims to be spirit-directed representatives of Jehovah, and hence they aren't "just men like you"?

That sure looks and smells like "special pleading" to me, asking everyone to give credit to Jehovah for their 'hits', but then excusing their failed interpretations and 'misses' as resulting from the work of 'mere men'?
