    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/03/at-that-time-the-righteous-ones-will-shine-as-brightly-as-the-sun/

Alternative Daily Text for Thursday, January 3, 2014

“At that time the righteous ones will shine as brightly as the sun.” (Matthew 13:43)

According to scientific calculations the luminous power of the sun amounts to roughly 384,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 watts. No wonder “we can hardly bear to look directly at the sun.” (Life Does Have a Purpose, page 16) “Looking directly at the Sun for even brief periods of time may cause blindness or severe damage to the eye.” – Wikipedia.

These “righteous ones” are “the true servants of Jehovah God [and] enjoy light”; Jesus’ prophecy refers to “Jehovah’s Witnesses” which “have kept walking in the light.” (The Watchtower, December 1, 1981, page 16; 1975 Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses, page 4) They do not shine literally though; rather their “shining ‘as brightly as the sun in the kingdom of their Father’ refers to the enlightened condition and the glorious service of such anointed Christians on earth, where they ‘are shining as illuminators in the world.’” – The Watchtower, August 1, 1981, page 25.

Note: Looking at the sun leads to blindness. Similarly, having close association with “the true servants of Jehovah” can lead to spiritual blindness. Thinking persons “can hardly bear to look at” the “light” that they spread. Thus the following advice is appropriate: Never have close association with ‘the righteous ones [who] shine as brightly as the sun.’ Severe damage, even spiritual blindness, would be the consequence.

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/just-as-the-days-of-noah-were-so-the-presence-of-the-son-of-man-will-be/

Alternative Daily Text for Saturday, January 4, 2014

“Just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be.” (Matthew 24:27)

Jesus explained to his disciples that in Noah’s day “the Flood came and swept them all away” and added: “So the presence of the Son of man will be.” (Matthew 24:39) The apostle Peter confirmed that “the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water” and hence the deluge foreshadowed “the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly people.” (2 Peter 3:6, 7) “So the circumstances relating to the end of our world order at Armageddon will be similar to those associated with the ancient Deluge.” – From Kurukshetra to Armageddon – and Your Survival, page 18.

For a while after the flood, there had been only righteous people on earth. But very soon “after the flood of Noah’s day, his great-grandson Nimrod became a tyrant, ‘in opposition to Jehovah.’” (Good News to Make You Happy, page 91) “Then, 352 years after the Flood, Abraham was born,” and at that time most of the world was already “steeped in Babylonian idolatry.” – My Book with Bible Stories, Introduction to Part 2; Insight on the Scriptures, volume I, page 974.

After Armageddon – the antitypical deluge – the joy will be short-lived, too. After only 1,000 years the number of ungodly people will be “as the sand of the sea” again. (Revelation 20:8) God will destroy them another time, and once more only the righteous will survive. Then Jehovah will improve the security of his new capital, so that “anyone who does what is disgusting and deceitful will in no way enter into it.” (Revelation 21:27) But obviously such persons will exist again. Regardless how often “God will destroy the wicked” – he will not succeed in the long run. – The Watchtower, December 1, 2011, page 10.

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/05/i-am-jehovah-and-besides-me-there-is-no-savior/

Alternative Daily Text for Sunday, January 5, 2014

“I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.” (Isaiah 43:11)

The Bible leaves no doubt that God is the only savior. Jehovah emphasizes this again and again: “Is it not I, Jehovah? … A Savior, there is none besides me. Turn to me and be saved.” (Isaiah 45:21) But in the first century “there was born … in David’s city a savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11) “Without doubt, Jesus of Nazareth is the … ‘Savior of the world.’” – John 4:42; The Watchtower, August 15, 1995, page 11.

Since there is no savior besides God, but Jesus is the savior, does that not mean that Jesus is God? Yes, exactly that is the case. When Jesus appeared to his disciples after his death, “Thomas said to him: ‘My Lord and my God!’” (John 20:28) Later the apostle Peter pointed out that true Christians wait for the appearing of their “great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” – Titus 2:13, NIV, NLT, ESV, NASB, ASV.

Granted, the New Catholic Encyclopedia claims: “The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the O[ld] T[estament].” (Should You Believe in the Trinity?, page 6) But we must take into account that this encyclopedia is a product of apostate Christianity. Actually the Bible shows clearly that “three men” visited Abraham and that he addressed them all as “Jehovah” in the singular. (Genesis 18:2, 3) Thus there is no reason to doubt the clear Biblical statement: “Jesus Christ is the real God.” – 1 John 5:20,GWT.

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/06/i-am-not-married/

Alternative Daily Text for Monday, January 6, 2014

“I am not married!” (Luke 1:34, CEV)

An “angel” came to Mary’s home and talked to her. (Luke 1:26) She told her visitor that she was not married and was still “a virgin,” then she asked him: “How can I have a baby?” (Luke 1:34, NLT) Shortly thereafter the “angel” told her that she would soon be pregnant. (Luke 1:35) Who was the “angel”?

“In the original Bible languages, the words rendered ‘angel’ … literally mean ‘one who brings a message’ or simply ‘messenger.’” (Awake!, March 8, 1990, page 20) “Both … words translated ‘angel’ in the Bible … are also used with reference to human messengers.” (The Watchtower, December 1, 1969, page 735) The apostle John once met “seven angels with … seven trumpets,” and indeed in the 19th century ‘military post trumpets were used by the postilions’ in some countries. (Wikipedia) So there is no doubt that “the seven angels with the seven trumpets” were seven postmen. – Revelation 8:6.

Even back in Mary’s time there was a postal organization covering the whole Roman Empire. (Wikipedia) “In the cities, house slaves acted as … mailmen.” (Sklaven im Römischen Reich) In the past, “the postman … [had been] the most familiar visitor to home.” (Awake!, April 8, 1995, page 10) No wonder the Bible says that “Jesus … was thought to be the son of Joseph.” (Luke 3:23, HCSB) In actual fact, he was the son of the “angel” or mailman.

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/07/how-blessed-will-be-the-one/

Alternative Daily Text for Tuesday, January 7, 2014

“How blessed will be the one who seizes your young children and pulverizes them against the cliff!” (Psalm 137:9, ISV)

As described by the prophet Isaiah, God himself had charged the Babylonians with devastating the land of Israel and making it “an object of horror.” In the same prophecy he announced that after 70 years, he would punish Babylon for executing his order. (Jeremiah 25:9, 12) What would be the punishment?

He told the Babylonians through the psalmist: “How blessed will be the one who seizes your young children and pulverizes them against the cliff!” (Psalm 137:9, ISV) Obviously, God likes it when little children are killed barbarously, so he blesses and praises people who do so. The prophecy was originally fulfilled by Cyrus some 2,500 years ago, “but in the fullest sense, Cyrus was not the one meant in the closing words of Psalm 137: … ‘O daughter of Babylon … Happy will he be that grabs ahold and does dash to pieces your children against the crag.’ … Who will be that ‘happy’ one?” –Worldwide Security Under the “Prince of Peace”, page 148.

“In the near future happy will be the official service of the antitypical Cyrus, the glorified Jesus Christ, to see to it that accounts are settled with Babylon” and that in a spiritual sense its children are dashed to pieces. “Worshipers of Jehovah … take the divine view of justice and so can join the inspired psalmist” in his statement that pulverizing little children makes happy. – The Watchtower, May 15, 1980, page 20.

Since all people who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses will be killed, many of God’s worshippers will lose their mate, children, or other relatives, also dear friends. (You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth, pages 181, 255) But the Bible clearly shows that “God’s servants are told to exult” at their destruction. (The Watchtower, June 15, 1975, page 378) “Jehovah … fills the earth with dead bodies … It will be a feast to those who are on the Lord’s side.” – Light, volume II, pages 172, 173.

In heaven there will be “great joy over the eternal destruction” of all infidels. (The Watchtower, December 15, 1988, page 23) And “life on earth after the destruction of all” family members who had turned away from Jehovah’s Witnesses or had too few hours of field service “will be a delight.” (The Watchtower, December 1, 1974, page 719) Indeed, “it will be a wonderful thing to live in Paradise” without all these people. (Listening to the Great Teacher, page 182) Even today we can sense the pleasant anticipation of this time if we regard unbelieving relatives “as though dead.” – Revelation – Its Grand Climax at Hand!, page 50.

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/08/clouds-and-thick-gloom-are-all-around-him/

Alternative Daily Text for Wednesday, January 8, 2014

“Clouds and thick gloom are all around him.” (Psalm 97:2)

The Bible urges us to “search for Jehovah.” (Psalm 105:4) Where can we find him? “Clouds and thick gloom are all around him,” said the psalmist. (Psalm 97:2) “Jehovah said he would reside in the thick gloom,” that’s why “he … covered himself in darkness.” (1 Kings 8:12; Psalm 18:11) So it’s beyond question that God can be found only in the darkness.

But not everyone wants us to come closer to God. For example, the Watchtower “magazine has long been used by ‘the faithful and discreet slave’ as the primary channel for dispensing increased light.” (The Watchtower, April 15, 2010, page 10) This “slave” even demands “appreciation for the increased light” of his followers, though this alienates them from God. (The Watchtower, May 15, 1995, page 26) “By the ever-increasing light” he brings Jehovah’s Witnesses ever closer to Satan, the “angel of light.” – 2 Corinthians 11:14; The Watchtower, April 15, 1953, page 231.

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/09/there-was-a-dense-darkness/

Alternative Daily Text for Thursday, January 9, 2014

“There was a dense darkness in all the land of Egypt for three Days … and none of them got up from where they were for three days.” (Exodus 10:22, 23)

In our time there is no literal darkness anymore, but also “today it is not Pharaoh who is ruler … [but] Jehovah God, the Greater Pharaoh.” (Survival Into a New Earth, page 79) Accordingly the “darkness” does not come upon Pharaoh’s people, the Egyptians, but upon Jehovah’s people. This happens every year during the “three-day district conventions, organized by Jehovah’s Witnesses.” (The Watchtower, July 1, 2007, page 7) Like the Egyptians, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not ‘get up from where they are for three days’ because “getting up unnecessarily” and “moving about unnecessarily” is prohibited. – Exodus 10:23; Our Kingdom Ministry, February 1988, page 7; May 1993, page 6.

Some may object and say that at these conventions there is not “darkness” but rather “brighter light.” (The Watchtower, September 15, 2011, page 14) But the prophet Isaiah already warned against “those who are putting darkness for light.” (Isaiah 5:20, NWT 1984) And “Satan … put forth error … as a substitute for truth. In other words, he put darkness for light. Interestingly, it was regarding life, saying that Eve would not die but would continue to live in the flesh on earth if she did as he suggested. He promised her increased enlightenment.” – The Watchtower, May 15, 1976, page 304.

So Jehovah’s Witnesses follow Satan’s example. They too keep saying that their followers “would not die but would continue to live in the flesh on earth” if the follow the Watchtower doctrines. This started as early as 1918 with the discourse “Millions now living will never die!” and continues to this day. (Jehovah’s Witnesses – Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom, page 425) Like the devil, they ‘promise increased enlightenment’ in the form of “accurate knowledge of God’s purpose.” (The Watchtower, September 1, 2009, page 6) But in actual fact, their conventions are “a dense [spiritual] darkness!”

    http://dailytext2.wordpress.com/2014/01/10/unless-you-repent-you-will-all-likewise-be-destroyed/

Alternative Daily Text for Friday, January 10, 2014

“Unless you repent, you will all likewise be destroyed.” (Luke 13:3)

Jehovah claims to be “a righteous God and a Savior.” (Isaiah 45:21) But how did he save his worshippers of old? He saved Noah and his family from the deluge that he himself brought upon the earth. (Genesis 6:13, 14) He saved Lot and his daughters from the destruction that he himself brought upon Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis 19:23, 24) He saved Joseph and his family from the famine that he himself brought upon the land. (Psalm 105:16) In Elijah’s day he also saved a widow from the famine that he himself brought upon Israel. (2 Kings 8:1) God saved Jeremiah and Ebed-Melech from the Babylonians that he himself sent to Jerusalem. – Jeremiah 25:8, 9; 45:5.

Still today he demands people to “truly appreciate the salvation provided through Christ and God’s grace.” (Awake!, April 8, 1978, page 28) This is another “salvation” from a disaster that he himself wants to bring upon mankind. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9) Jesus did the same; when he told people that they would “all likewise be destroyed” he actually meant that he himself would kill them. – Luke 19:27.

If a criminal would announce to murder others but spare us – would we revere him as our “savior?” If a burglar robs other houses but spares ours, would we go from house to house and proclaim his name? If someone takes everything from us and leaves a piece of bread, would we thank him for the ‘wonderful salvation?’
